? I suppose I could wander over to EM and look for signs of the violent deed, such as blood and brains splattered about. But it could be dangerous over there, and discretion is the better part of valor. Or is it velour-- I get those mixed up. Or is it DISCUSSION is the better part of valor? (In The Fray, it really is.)

there were ambushes on eMinds, yes.
nonetheless: i remember the GRE tests. they were awful.
i took three of them on the same day because i disliked
them so much. don't EVER do that! it was a horrible mistake.
my brain was full of peanut butter when i got done.
i did, however, manage to find a question on the test that
was mis-written; and so i argued with educational testing
service about it until they yielded. long time ago, that...

Well...
I feel like sharing my thoughts with people at the moment, which happens
sometimes...I'm in an odd mood and have been for quite a few days.
Does anyone find it odd that I should still dream about a girl whom I
haven't been involved with for over two years? Do I have a problem
when I serve someone a bottle of "Castaway" in the bar and remember her?

Weeell, I grew up, and weaned out of it. That's it. I used to be declaring myself as dogmatic undogmatic (with some very fine moves and styles that really threw folks off my track).
Still, didn't get ME anywhere. Painted myself in corners, perhaps. What a sad sight.
These days, I've progressed beyond these limits and programmes. As a Neo-Pragmatic Post-Postmodern Man, I don't need ideologies anymore.

hey, how bout this
but no one might be interested in actually doin' it (not that it matters)
but here it is anyway (it's the thot that counts):
with a sound card, microphone, and sound-mixing shareware of some kind obtained somewhere off the net (where?), and whatever else is
needed to make sound files, each of us could:
take the self-made sound (hopefully including some of their own voice) someone emails us and add our own sound to it.....
the self-made sound can be our own voice and/or our own instrument-playing and/
or not our own sounds (but our own mix/dub/sample of some record)
and we could mix lightly over another person's sound (adding background to it that doesn't obstruct....but adds to....the other's sound).
collaborative non-duelling sound editing it is is it it is.
mmm, never done it myself.....
plus, don't have a microphone, or sound-mixing software, or sound card
wait a minute, what'd i do with my legs, my lucky tongue, my brain.....?
.......fraid all (of me) is lost
i'm useless

With us ethnic German, Wolf, it's always this way, true. We land in a mess and struggle our way out. Sometimes quite a messy thing. There may be smarter approaches... But not for us, I'm afraid.

So, your family is Danish, Wer?
In Bremen is a famous medieval statue, the Roland. He was a "Herold" for Charlemagne, whom we know as "Karl der Groe", and held a ravine against the saracens somewhere in Spain, all by himself, and warned the train behind him with his horn signals. He died, but his effort and loyalty made him a legend.
(There is a passage in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, which always seemed to me to be a reenactment of this: When Boromir falls, his hornsignals warns the companions.)

So? Who here isn't?
Hey, we had North Africans here *2.000* years ago. Russians occupied the area *around 1800* when they pushed Napoleon back. Plus spoken language in my state, especially this county, knows many distorted french words because they came over to knock us up *all the time*. Before the North Africans and their Roman officers this was *Celtic land*. In the town I was born in they had a major industrial site to produce salt from the springs we have here. Not far from it were two major fortifications and a great c
lt place. Afterwards, Germanic tribes settled here. To keep this area for the empire, the Romans built the limes, a long wall through Germany (sound familar?). When all that was over, the Hunns passed through. Tell a german about being a mutt. What a joke!
(It took an Austrian to not get it, and make a cult of the opposite.)

The only time it has not been fun to live on this volcano is when I am called to do disaster relief work. A lovely little subdivision was buried quite completely by lava a few years ago, and other than feeding them, the only help I was able to offer was my arms around them when they fell apart watching their homes burn and disappear, one by one. It is heart-rending and something etched so clearly in my memory I can still see it when I close my eyes.

As for moral support for my son on his field trips, He has been wonderful about that. When he was young, he was my excuse to ride on merry-go-rounds; when he got older I got to go on some very interesting hikes (ever eat Jiffy Pop cooked on a hot lava flow?!). I knew I had a good thing when he and a group of his age students included me on their graduation hike. I over did it and became very dizzy, disoriented and frightened. He took me aside and sat me down and calmed me down. Then is when I knew th

Since she is out of town on a business trip and Alexander does not address me when more fetching ladies are about, I shall just mention that the weather in Hawaii is warm and pleasant and humid enough to keep your skin from needing moisturizers. The flowers are plentiful, the fruit is coming into season (including the Best fruit in the Universe, the Mango), and it is altogether too pleasant to do anything but lie in a hammock between two palm trees and let the trade winds cool you. Any Takers?

I must say - at the risk of being branded 'geek' by people other than 4 year-olds - I don't really think of kinky sex positions; don't have the patience. I don't like doing it on tables or on the floor for instance, because it HURTS! The couch is the best place.
The creative period is more arty farty than reciprocal. My fat lady on the crocodile chose to have an unusual skin colour - green! She is looking fabulous, and the crocodiles and piranhas too! It's just so GREAT to paint after the year's studies, and the exams of the past 2 weeks. Last night I could just not stop - worked until 3; so now I'm totally hyper!

This seems as good a place as any to put this note: If you value Spring and the discussions herein (not to mention the
venting going on), do you realize this is Terry's web site for which he pays all the bills? Please, it is time to help with any
donation you can afford. He has some pretty big bills to pay and he needs your (and my) help to sustain all of the stuff we
are posting. Think if he had to cut back and eliminate some of - or all of - the conferences?! Please!
