Multimedia viewers include those apps that allow you to view multiple types of files, including a combination of graphic images, movies, video files, and the like. These apps are generally one step beyond standard graphics viewers and are therefore Considered separate from the Apps Listed in the Graphics Viewers section, which is designed to list only those type of apps that allow manipulation of standard, one-frame images. Moving picture apps that allow you to view and/or manipulate multi-frame 'moving' images, including movies in the MPEG format, are the first type of app in this section. An example of this category is MPEGPlay. A second type of app allows audio and video to be played simultaneously as in the QuickTime for Windows, AVI, and MPEG-1 formats. NET TOOB, QuickTime for Windows, and Video for Windows are apps of this type. Similar to the 'movie player' type apps are programs that allow videoconferencing, even over the Internet. CUSee-Me and VDOLive are prime examples of this emerging technology. Whatever your viewing needs, you're very likely to find at least one app here that meets and exceeds both your expectations and your needs. The following are brief descriptions of each application featured on the Multimedia Viewers Page. - Forrest Stroud
