Web Audit -- Web Audit (WA) is a commercial web stats service
similar to Internet Audit Bureau. While it lacks the ability to track
hits per day, week, or month, Web Audit is able to track 10 of your
most popular pages (25 with the deluxe service -- $25.00 a month).
It can also sort your statistics out by number of hits, earliest/latest
hit, category, or URL -- and there are even more options with the
deluxe service. Both services give you quick insight into the total
number of hits your pages are receiving, but at this time WA sorely
misses the ability to break the stats down on either a time basis (as
mentioned above) or by statistical average.
Like IAB and Web-Counter, establishing an account with Web
Audit takes no more than ten minutes. Also, unlike Statbot or
AccessWatch, there is no strain on your server -- the Web Audit
server takes care of all the work for you. As far as disadvantages
go, the most important one applies to web sites with a large number
of pages -- the 10/25 page limit per account can be quickly
exceeded. In addition, many of Web Audit's competitors offer
features that are currently missing in WA, including easily resettable
stats, graphical representation of hits, customizable reports, and
configurable options. Several of these services also offer the same
or more features while remaining free for use. Notwithstanding
these limitations, Web Audit is another viable candidate for taking
on all of your web statistic needs.
