If you haven/t consulted the Gif Wizard be sure
to head their asap, and bring all your oversized gifs with.
http://www.raspberryhill.com/gifwizard.html
It's an online only (no local version yet) gif processer
which can drastically reduce gif size, especially good at
cleaning up repeated images in 89 animations.
I ran several of our larger files (fr: www.dreamwv.com)
thru there and knocked 20-30% off a couple gif anims.
Doesn't do a whole lot for static gifs that you've already
worked to reduce, but does have a secondary level of
processing that offers you a page of versions of your gifs, from
full-size full-color palette, in steps, down to a smallK 4-color
palette with the file size listed next to each step--all on one
page so you can do the K vs. colors tradeoff right there.
Doesn't process jpegs (yet, they say). And, again, it's online only--
but you can offer up a gif to be processed from eith a url or
from your computer's local files. Then just "Save As..." the
version you want.
