WinZip Install/Try/Uninstall Add-On -- This useful component gives added functionality to an already powerful WinZip for Windows 95 client. The add-on utility will run whenever a file is installed using WinZip for Windows 95 (the Windows 3.x release already has the Install/Try/Uninstall functionality built in). The add-on utility makes simple the routine and extremely common task of installing and uninstalling Internet software. Using WinZip Install/Try/Uninstall will save you time, energy, and megabytes of disk space by tracking and removing all traces of an application. WinZip will run the installation program in an archive, give you a chance to try out the program, and then optionally offer to restore your system to its original state. The uninstall step gives you the power to selectively remove files, i Cons, or program groups created by an install program and can also restore any modified *.INI files. The WinZip Add-On gives you complete control over the uninstall process -- no changes are made without your approval. Pros: Excellent and easy creation and removal of software archives Cons: This utility will likely be a built-in feature of WinZip 32-bit in the future New: This is the initial review for WinZip Add-On Version Reviewed: Beta 4a Date of Review: 5/18/96 Reviewer: Forrest Stroud apps conference Main Menu
