What's the best order to read the Jane Austen books?
Should I read them in the order she wrote them (that is, Sense, Pride,
Emma, Mansfiled and Persusion). Is Northanger Abbey and anomolie?

I would recommend you read them in order in which they were writen but I did not. I was smitten by Olivier at the time and I inhaled Pride and Prejudice. I still have not made my way allthe way through Northanger Abbey. If you aren ot a JA fan bu the time you have finished Emma, not sure you will be able to get through the last two. Her first 3, to my, were her best!

Interesting, is there a compilation of all her books in one volume?

Since each of mine is about an inch and a half thick, it probably would be awkward to do that,. and yo do not want abridged Austen. Part of her beauty and charm is the development and einteraction of the characters. It is worth getting a set or the paperback versions of each. Mine are bound, but it is a good way to discover whether she is talking to you or not without spend a lot. youc an also download and printout the entire Pride and Prejudice. Not sure how many of hte other books are like that but you might check online at
http://www.promo.net/pg/ which is Project Gutenberg's Home site.
