I know about the theory that the Bronte sisters unleashed a lot of their feelings about feminism into their work but I've got my own theory about feminism in Emily's work. In Wuthering Heights Emily created Heathcliff and Cathy Earnshaw, right, well in Emily's day the males were ussually in the dominant position in a relationship but in Wuthering Heights the lovers were put in such a position that the Female, Cathy, could dominate the relationship and it was her who broke Heathcliffs spiit and drove him i to a wild obbsession. What I think is that Emily created this relationship like this ecspecially to rebel against how society of then worked. bronte conference Main Menu
