Understand that I think is nice that you ask questions, but please ask those privaty so someone so you don't look like a total idiot infront a group of people. Thank you. High Elves are decent. I like their dragon (but I like the Wood Elf dragon better). High Elves have a good calvary (for Elves), but they are kind of repetitive (like alot of the Empire's Cavalry and Bretonnians before they got the bow-weilding Squires in White Dwarf #215. I like the Wood Elves because of the contrast. Wood Elves have guerilla troops, the best archers in the world, a light cavalry, flying armies, huge Treemen, a DRAGON, Dryads (which have those cool tree abilities), and of course or peice-of-trash spearmen (hey, Wood Elves aren't perfect). hehe. I'm currently obsessed with a assively multiplayer gaming community called Ultima Online, based around fantasy role-playing. It's shakey, bug-ridden, primitive, and teeming with life. Might be an interesting new model for online communities that can actually make money. we're all ears (starting with the \"making money\" part) ;-). Wired News recently ran an interesting piece on an Ultima Online revolt of sorts. What, the fellow who killed Lord British? Nope -- the \"butt-nekkid protest.\" I put up a Web page with some hilarious images: http://www.naima.com/ultima-nekkid.html Many articles were written about this protest -- e.g. http://www.next-generation.com/specials/110797.chtml"}, {"response": 2, "author": "terry", "date": "Wed, Mar 11, 1998 (06:44)", "body": "I get a weekly email note from http://www.gamespot.com which is of interest to me mainly because they use our same Yapp software that runs the Spring conferencing. But this week and interesting piece came in about a very high profile Austin game company: Greetings: Late last week, a class action lawsuit was filed against Origin Systems and Electronic Arts, with charges including \"negligent misrepresentation\" and \"breach of express and implied warranties.\" The subject of the case was the much-disputed Ultima Online. The lawsuit contends that issues such as lag and server crashes have made Origin's claims that the game would be playable in real time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week untrue. Despite how you feel about Ultima Online itself, it's impossible to deny the implications of a case like this, not just for online gaming, but for gaming in general. While the outcome, if the case makes it to trial and if the judgement is for the plaintiffs, could be positive - companies will think twice before advertising features that actually won't be implemented - it could have resoundingly negative effects as well. GameSpot News has been on this story from the moment the papers were filed.
