Since I started this, I have been able to get in some games and campaigns at my local store, the Game Preserve. So I feel a little different about the idea of complaining about not being let in.
I just watched for a while -- quite a while, maybe 2-3 months before I started to play and started getting my armies together.
Now all the guys are really nice to me and it doesn't seem to matter that I just turned 13. My little brother, who is only 8, actually even got to play the last couple weeks. He has lizzardmen.
I have High Elves now, and play them all the time now instead of my Bretonians.

Terry. Understand that I think is nice that you ask questions, but please ask those privaty so someone so you don't look like a total idiot infront a group of people. Thank you.
High Elves are decent. I like their dragon (but I like the Wood Elf dragon better). High Elves have a good calvary (for Elves), but they are kind of repetitive (like alot of the Empire's Cavalry and Bretonnians before they got the bow-weilding Squires in White Dwarf #215. I like the Wood Elves because of the contrast.
Wood Elves have guerilla troops, the best archers in the world, a light cavalry, flying armies, huge Treemen, a DRAGON, Dryads (which have those cool tree abilities), and of course or peice-of-trash spearmen (hey, Wood Elves aren't perfect).
hehe.
