Frontpage 200 is here, so it's time for a new topic, finally. We'll talk about how you can build your own webs, how you can develop Front Page enable Spring websites and how the Frontpage 2000 Server extensions work.

You can ftp frontpage webs, but some of the features like themes, counters, etc. won't work unless the webserver is Frontpage enabled. You can edit navigation bars and themes in Frontpage with some simple steps. To edit a theme, open the Themes dialog box again and click the Modify button. When you do, the dialog box will change to reveal a new row of buttons. The first three buttons (Colors, Graphics, and Text) let you access the various theme elements. The rest of the detailed instructions on changing themes you'll find at http://www.microsoft.com/INSIDER/frontpage2000/articles/robots.htm You can change graphics, change the text that appears as part of the graphics, and change colors and backgrounds. In other words, you can develop your own custom themes.

I have a huge problem with FrontPage if it is going to be invisible to Netscape users. That is unconscionable of Mr Gates and his minions. I have already downloaded a program today I cannot use unless I get his browser. Not acceptable to me!

Here I am again... old thread, hoping for a response or directions to the correct conference. I've created my first web site using Frontpage 2003 and for the most part, it's working fine. I'm able to accomplish most edits or adds without mishap. My problem is with the 'webbot' that is used within the guestbook form template. It isn't bringing the actual guestlog into the page as it's supposed to. Any hints? Also, is there a guide out there that defines exactly what these webbots do/or supposed to do?

I fixed my guestbook but not via the above links. I hit the old HTML reference and 'figgured' it out. Still not quite sure why it worked, but it did. Now I want to collect info on who/where the comments are coming from, but without that info being visable to visitors. Not even sure it can be done. (FP2003)

You can add some variables with frontpage which will show you the ip address where the comments come from and also the time and date. Otherwise, you just have to ask as one of the questions on your form.

I had that on for a bit... it seemed to be passing the dynamic IP of the remote users ISP. Maybe I need to read my HTML reference some more ;-)
