don't be shy!
~riette Tue, Jul 7, 1998 (02:44) #1
Oh, it's my nature, I can't help it. COOL!
~autumn Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (00:45) #2
This background is so tranquil and soothing! (Of course, it's not having that effect on everyone...)
~riette Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (02:22) #3
Oh, it will, it will. Just give it some time. Sometimes it's a good thing for people to just get EVERYTHING of the chest. I think!
~stacey Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (14:33) #4
I wish I could put some bigger things ON my chest! (sorry, wrong topic!)
~riette Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (15:05) #5
ha-ha!!! I know the feeling. I had a magnificent chest when I was pregnant and/or breastfeeding - Mr. C. LUVED it. Now I'm back to the bee sting effect.
~stacey Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (15:11) #6
hedonistically defying this topic's intent Ree-head (I LOVE it!), I think if I were to breastfeed, the (presently non-existent) munchkin might starve to death.
~KitchenManager Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (16:12) #7
you could put my hands on your chest, Stacey, or are they not quite as big as you'd like? (ooh, the multiple visuals I got working...) I love the link to the criticism topic in the header, Mike. (wished I'd thought of it...*applause*)
~mikeg Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (16:16) #8
wer: if i have seen further than others, it is only because i have stood on the shoulders of giants ;)) (to which i would add, "and slapped them around a bit, because it seemed like a good idea.") :-)
~riette Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (18:20) #9
Big smile Stacey, would you ever consider silicon? An aquaintance, a very vain aquaintance, I may add, just had the job, and I think it looks HORRENDOUS! ha-ha!! No, $hit, better small than silicon. I mean, if she were to breastfeed, it would look like the baby's blowing instead of sucking!!
~mikeg Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (18:39) #10
well, thanks, riette. i'll take that comment on board while performing my host duties ;-))
~riette Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (18:57) #11
Oops! Caught! I thought everyone had gone when I wrote that. rolling-on-the-floor-blushing-my-t....eh head off
~stacey Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (19:03) #12
never consider silicon! (i suppose if that answer was so quick everyone could imply that I HAD indeed thought it over and reached a conclusion... but never seriously THOUGHT about it) not one person has ever complained about the size of my breasts save moi, So... I'll shut up now! (it would just be nice to have some a-mazing cleavage going on occassion!)
~mikeg Thu, Jul 9, 1998 (21:57) #13
small is beautiful, imho
~KitchenManager Fri, Jul 10, 1998 (01:06) #14
mine, too...and I guess that be a no on the hands...
~wolf Fri, Jul 10, 1998 (01:08) #15
hey mikey, thanks for revamping the message at the top...btw, can you soften the green? it messes up my eyeballs....
~mikeg Fri, Jul 10, 1998 (21:26) #16
soften the green? how do you mean? darker?
~wolf Fri, Jul 10, 1998 (23:33) #17
maybe, just not so bright, i dunno, like a sage or something, this green to bright for anyone else or is it just my machine?
~mikeg Fri, Jul 10, 1998 (23:43) #18
well, it *is* ok here, but if others find it a bit hard, i'll tone it down.
~wolf Fri, Jul 10, 1998 (23:59) #19
not trying to be a butt, if it's just me, i'll live with it, k?
~mikeg Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (13:06) #20
well let's hear from the others, and then we'll sort it. i'd change it immediately, but it means re-doing the banner graphic, which isn't transparent. i'll do it anyway, without changing the banner, and you can let me know if it helps.
~riette Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (13:37) #21
My eyes aren't sensitive at all to bright lights and colours, so I can't complain. Whatever you do is fine by me - as long as the chalk stays away for good.
~wolf Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (15:35) #22
no, don't worry about it mike, don't go to the trouble on account of my eyeballs. i mean it.
~mikeg Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (17:35) #23
well i did anyway. what do you think? improvement? it's a bit duller, but if it's better for your eyes, then that's the most important thing. btw, what does everyone think about the two girlies heading up the Conference main page?
~riette Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (17:54) #24
Alicia Silverstone has lost alot of weight since she played Fatgirl in B.A.T. parade. (Bum-Arse-Tit-parade - not my words; married to a totally vulgar person!) It IS the same girs I'm bitching about, isn't it? And, yes, in men's eyes she must be a babe - that's why I bitch! The other one, Lisa Kudrow, I don't know at all. I don't think she's particularly pretty, so I like her. But as a woman I can't really judge these things. The green is still nice.
~mikeg Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (17:57) #25
heee :)) are you really jealous of them, riette?
~mikeg Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (17:59) #26
i think lisa kudrow is gorgeous, btw =))
~riette Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (18:03) #27
See? I can't really judge these things. And of course I'm jealous of them!!! What a question! Where can one go to buy looks like that? Is there some sort of medicine one can drink?
~mikeg Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (18:13) #28
i'm just surprised, that's all :) i don't think i've ever come across healthy jealousy of another woman in any lady i've known :) not that you've got anything to be jealous to about, riette, you really are a chick :) :-)
~riette Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (18:21) #29
:-0 Woa! Did you see the picture of the creature from the black lagoon that slipped into your response?!?! Gee, nearly gave me a heart attack!
~mikeg Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (18:26) #30
riette, darling, you are quite possibly one of the loveliest looking people around. you're lovely. you really are :-) maybe this worship is more relevant in your own topic ? i'll move there :)
~riette Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (18:37) #31
As long as it isn't a sympathy vote, I am totally pleasantly embarrassed. I always thought that guys my own age (younger in your case!) found me ugly. It is nice to know ONE thinks differently.
~mikeg Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (18:47) #32
i never have sympathy for beautiful women - they're usually evil :)
~wolf Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (18:59) #33
ohmygod, riette, that was you! you're very pretty, dear. and you know what? we've got the same haircut (and same haircolor, i might add)....your features are much finer than mine. who would ever find you ugly? mike: truly beautiful women are those that don't realize their beauty, yes?
~wolf Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (19:01) #34
oh, and i love the green!
~riette Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (19:06) #35
Is it a different green? I can never distinguish between different greens and reds and things - you must have very good eyes, Wolf!
~wolf Sat, Jul 11, 1998 (20:50) #36
yup!
~riette Sun, Jul 12, 1998 (02:35) #37
Okay, then - this is a WONDERFULLY green green, Mike!
~stacey Sun, Jul 12, 1998 (07:33) #38
great pic Ree-head! Been trying to imagine what you looked like... BTW, which babies head was just out of sight in the pic... can we see them too? (now feeling guilty... will send a pic to Paul or WER or somebody to post) (then it'll be YOUR turn Wolf!)
~wolf Sun, Jul 12, 1998 (11:43) #39
hey, i did mine already in the spring gallery!
~riette Sun, Jul 12, 1998 (12:29) #40
STACEY, if the baby were my own, I would not have cut it out - it was taken at a kiddies party, and I always seem to end up with all the babies on my lap! I didn't want to put it on though, as I didn't know if his mother would like that or not. I don't even know WHO the mother is, but it was a very sweet little baby. Can't resist the little creatures. Think I like mothering things too much to be a babe - even if I did have the proper looks for it! Do send your picture though, otherwise the poor guys will remain dry mouthed forever!
~wolf Sun, Jul 12, 1998 (18:18) #41
i'm working up the nerve to do it Stacey, but like i told mike the other day, it may take quite the while to find a proper photo (IF one exists)!!
~riette Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (02:37) #42
hope this isn't turning into a beauty contest If it is, do we need to turn stoopid now or later? And when does one put on the girlie girlie voice, and say, 'Well, I don't like the blacks much, but actually I am pretty liberal . . . ' (I heard that once in a beauty contest on TV - pleugh! Yuk!)
~stacey Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (17:28) #43
Mine is in the envelope... who do i send it too???
~wolf Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (19:04) #44
that's awful, riette. no, i hope it ain't no beauty contest... stacey: really? that was quick!
~terry Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (19:11) #45
It's *not* a beauty contest! I just like being able to associate visually. There will be no "Miss Springeur".
~wolf Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (19:16) #46
what a relief! wer will be disappointed tho, that there will be no swimsuit competition (maybe a slip competition, huh, wer?)
~mikeg Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (20:51) #47
I shall be Miss Springeur. Wait and see. *wink*
~wolf Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (21:04) #48
what?!? don't tell me, you're on hormone pills? *grin* btw, why isn't my picture up there in the babe gallery? (you know, the wolf one)
~mikeg Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (21:31) #49
i think when all of you lovely ladies have submitted your pics to the gallery in Porch, I shall put in a "guest" conference header with your darling images displayed for all the world :)
~wolf Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (21:34) #50
i dunno if that'd be a good idea, we don't want to turn folks away (especially on my account)
~mikeg Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (21:42) #51
awww shurrup and stop putting yourself down. you're starting to sound like me ;)
~wolf Mon, Jul 13, 1998 (21:44) #52
haha (not fishing for good words, you know, but thanks)
~stacey Tue, Jul 14, 1998 (14:32) #53
you two... shurrup is right! (still wondering who to send the goods to...)
~riette Tue, Jul 14, 1998 (15:31) #54
Wer - sure he has a frame ready . . .
~wolf Tue, Jul 14, 1998 (20:13) #55
haha!! if you want, Stacey, you can email me and i'll make sure it gets somewhere!
~KitchenManager Tue, Jul 14, 1998 (23:48) #56
what, Stace, did you lose my address? if'n so, check your e-mail...
~riette Wed, Jul 15, 1998 (02:05) #57
She's playing hard to get, muffin!
~terry Wed, Jul 15, 1998 (10:22) #58
Speaking of Stace' any word on the Austin trip?
~stacey Wed, Jul 15, 1998 (14:09) #59
*frown* all sorts of glitches coming up...
~KitchenManager Wed, Jul 15, 1998 (14:22) #60
such as?
~mikeg Wed, Jul 15, 1998 (20:51) #61
comments on the new backdrop are welcome. yays or nays in this direction, please!
~wolf Wed, Jul 15, 1998 (21:41) #62
oooo, i like this!
~riette Thu, Jul 16, 1998 (02:12) #63
WONDERFUL, Mike!
~mikeg Thu, Jul 16, 1998 (14:54) #64
glad you like it :)
~stacey Thu, Jul 16, 1998 (17:10) #65
thanks for the re-send WER... glitches to Austin include: B's advisor at UT... good friends trying to plan camping trip up to CO... B's presentation on 8/9 (here in CO)... (basically it's just the timing but when I tried to fix the timing issue, the cost became prohibitive... I'm still trying.)
~riette Fri, Oct 16, 1998 (03:59) #66
Sonja here: These different backgrounds are great. Each different conference holds a new surprise!
~mikeg Fri, Oct 16, 1998 (05:59) #67
Thanks, Sonja, glad you like it - welcome to the Spring!
~terry Fri, Oct 16, 1998 (10:06) #68
We love it that you're here! Do you want your own account and username?
~riette Fri, Oct 16, 1998 (12:24) #69
Thank you, Terry, we received it. If she can manage to tie herself loose, she can come back on.
~sonja Fri, Oct 16, 1998 (14:03) #70
Very funny. Thank you for the nice welcome - I could defenitely get used to this.
~terry Fri, Oct 16, 1998 (14:15) #71
We could definitely get used to you being around here! Loving it!
~KitchenManager Fri, Oct 16, 1998 (14:19) #72
yep, please return on your return
~wolf Fri, Oct 16, 1998 (19:56) #73
we're so glad that you decided to start using your own name! haha, it was getting weird there with your "sonja here" thing. felt like we were talking by CB radio or something
~riette Sat, Oct 17, 1998 (02:05) #74
And how weird do you think it is on this side???
~sonja Sat, Oct 17, 1998 (08:22) #75
Thank you, Terry. Yes, Wolf, I felt a little strange saying, SONJA HERE!, everytime I responded. Like an undercover agent or something.
~wolf Sat, Oct 17, 1998 (11:36) #76
riette: i can only imagine, you girls fighting for your turn at the computer?
~sonja Sat, Oct 17, 1998 (13:52) #77
And this time I won! She and Chris are putting the girl to bed, reading stories and so on - that's where an aunt's job is finished!
~riette Sun, Oct 18, 1998 (02:16) #78
I have two, you know.
~sonja Sun, Oct 18, 1998 (05:11) #79
Oops, sorry! Do your friends know what the two of them look like?
~terry Sun, Oct 18, 1998 (05:32) #80
Are you and ree still in the same physical space?
~sonja Sun, Oct 18, 1998 (09:45) #81
How do you mean? You saying I'm fat??
~terry Sun, Oct 18, 1998 (10:42) #82
No, no! I meant are you still at her place.
~sonja Sun, Oct 18, 1998 (13:56) #83
Yes; I don't find travelling fun at all when I'm alone. I've only ever really travelled with Ritte; she is great fun to travel with, because she gets up to such nonsense, and manages to find all the interesting places that aren't in the guide books. It's nice to share those experiences with someone while one's still there; when I'm on my own, I'm like, yeah, that's pretty neat. So what? With Ritte the nice places just really come alive, and we'll probably still be laughing about all the things we g t up to when we're 80. So we're sort of arranging trips to nearby places, and working it around my little nieces' routine. And some of the time we take them along, which is fun too.
~terry Sun, Oct 18, 1998 (22:31) #84
What places have you been together? (you can answer this in travel if you like!).
~riette Mon, Oct 19, 1998 (03:50) #85
Oh, just nice little towns around Zrich - Chur, Winterthur, St. Gallen, and a huge swimming complex called, Alpamare (which was the best one so far!).
~terry Mon, Oct 19, 1998 (07:45) #86
I opened a topic in the travel conference called "places I've been" or somethiing like that, it's the last topic in travel. I'd love to hear about your experiences at Alpamere.
~riette Tue, Oct 20, 1998 (01:41) #87
How we sank like a pair of rocks from eating too much? Sure - I'll go look in Travel.
