Real beauty really is probably more than skin deep, which is why we men indulge the crazy women who hang around the Spring so much - this alternative modelling agency is their idea, blame them :-)
~riette Sun, Oct 25, 1998 (01:28) #1
Wolf, post your creations for us ordinary women!
~wolf Sun, Oct 25, 1998 (18:20) #2
already?
~autumn Mon, Oct 26, 1998 (00:12) #3
I don't get it. What is this topic about?
~riette Mon, Oct 26, 1998 (03:40) #4
Not for weedy six footers! A topic for short fat ar$ed women like me!
~wolf Mon, Oct 26, 1998 (19:52) #5
and me, for real women, vogue model types need not apply!!!
~sonja Tue, Oct 27, 1998 (06:00) #6
Count me in - when I bend over I have to be real careful; airplanes have mistaken my arse for an airfield in the past....
~wolf Tue, Oct 27, 1998 (09:41) #7
LOL!!
~riette Wed, Oct 28, 1998 (02:24) #8
ha-ha!!!
~autumn Wed, Oct 28, 1998 (14:38) #9
"Houston, are we clear to land? Over."
~KitchenManager Thu, Oct 29, 1998 (21:28) #10
once heard a guy tell his wife when she was bent over in front of him, "Now I know why they call ya'll broads."
~stacey Mon, Nov 16, 1998 (17:16) #11
oh shut up Ree-head and wolf... EVERYONE here thinks you two are BEEEEEE -U- tiful and that's that! My mother always said (well not always, but I think she meant it), "If you've got it, flaunt it. And if yob don't got it, it's not important anyway." So go flaunt it Sisters!!!!!
~jgross Mon, Nov 16, 1998 (17:48) #12
whoa, Stacey puts her foot down and now all the cameras are clickin' I think I see some cool smiles comin' on too Wolf and Riette are flauntin' it that's a nice alternative those photographers are workin' fast they're movin' all around their subjects what angles!
~TIM Mon, Nov 16, 1998 (20:39) #13
See Riette! I told you to turn the light on the next time you looked in the mirror. Or, do you still think that our perception is off?
~terry Mon, Nov 16, 1998 (22:05) #14
Reehead, wolf and Stacey. Babe Alert!
~riette Tue, Nov 17, 1998 (02:23) #15
Baah! I don't wanna be a babe! I want to be cool and edgy like you!
~TIM Tue, Nov 17, 1998 (05:41) #16
Why not both, at the same time, if anyone could pull it off, you could.
~stacey Tue, Nov 17, 1998 (15:31) #17
and I wanna be mosaic-esque like Ree-head's paintings!
~TIM Tue, Nov 17, 1998 (17:06) #18
Why would you want that?
~stacey Tue, Nov 17, 1998 (18:37) #19
cause they're stunning!
~TIM Tue, Nov 17, 1998 (19:36) #20
Yes, they are, as are you, no doubt!
~riette Wed, Nov 18, 1998 (02:26) #21
Look in her topic, Tim. Stacey is truly beautiful. So, what the heck are YOU doing in here, Stace???
~stacey Wed, Nov 18, 1998 (18:55) #22
Blah, blah, blah Ree-head.
~KitchenManager Wed, Nov 18, 1998 (20:47) #23
flaunting it with you and Wolf, near as I can tell...
~TIM Wed, Nov 18, 1998 (21:38) #24
Riette was right, Stacey, You are beautiful.
~KitchenManager Wed, Nov 18, 1998 (23:22) #25
She's fun, too!
~riette Thu, Nov 19, 1998 (02:47) #26
If only she'd show up more often!
~TIM Thu, Nov 19, 1998 (02:58) #27
Show up where? I talk to her every day. Perhaps argue would be a better word.
~riette Fri, Nov 20, 1998 (02:20) #28
To Stacey? Yeah? How? Where? She sometimes stays off the web for weeks on end, that's why I say she should show up more often.
~TIM Fri, Nov 20, 1998 (02:31) #29
I have a long hot list and she pops up every day usually in fitness and environment and a couple of other places.
~riette Sat, Nov 21, 1998 (02:00) #30
Oh, right!
~stacey Fri, Dec 18, 1998 (20:38) #31
Actually, Ree-heads right... I do take long sabaticals... (for lack of a better term) Been a hectic couple of months with new job and such... I'm trying Ree-head, I'm trying... (to be more consistent!)
~PT Sat, Dec 19, 1998 (12:34) #32
What kind of job do you have now?
~KitchenManager Sun, Dec 20, 1998 (00:16) #33
she's back to being a tech-chick...
~PT Sun, Dec 20, 1998 (18:04) #34
What does that mean?
~autumn Mon, Dec 21, 1998 (21:32) #35
She works in computers.
~stacey Mon, Dec 21, 1998 (21:53) #36
umm... with them but not in them. Actually I do a lot more than just the computer based training modules... not sure I could give everyone a concise job description but that's the best part... new and different all the time!
~PT Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (12:06) #37
That is a good feature of any job, constant variety.
~riette Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (14:32) #38
AND she wears platform shoes!
~stacey Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (15:42) #39
how'd ya know?!?!?
~PT Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (17:01) #40
I didn't think anyone wore platform shoes anymore.
~stacey Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (18:51) #41
well my legs are two different sizes... ya know!
~PT Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #42
No, I didn't know that. I thought that an old fad was being resurrected.
~KitchenManager Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #43
Sorry, Stace, I keep meaning to give that back to you...
~riette Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #44
You mean her knee?? Naughty man - no wonder she's been limping around like that with the one platform shoe on. (Stacey, I wear them when I need to intimidate people with height....you?)
~stacey Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #45
actually Ree-head, don't tell anyone... but that's the same damn reason I wear 'em. When I was teaching I wanted that emotional lift that comes with a physical lift... (but I enjoyed having at least one person believe there was a physiological reason... *grin*) I used to wear flats exclusively. I felt odd being anything above my natural 5'2" but when we moved to Denver and I bought a pair of boots (for winter weather) I decided I liked the 'tallness' factor. I was nearly as tall as Brandon in those shoes!
~riette Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #46
I know! And don't you love being nearly as tall as him??? I find it so weird to be able to look my husband LEVEL in the eye when I wear platforms. I NEVER wear high heels, and don't particularly like wearing platforms either, but I ALWAYS wear them at the opening of a new exhibition, or when meeting a potential buyer - the psychological effect of in fact being taller than normally is tremendous! All that self confidence spreading from the feet upwards... Then, when I run into these people on the stre t, they always say, 'Gee, is that really you? You seem so small!' Then I think, DAMN, why can't I be taller?? I just find it so unfair sometimes. I have such a big voice - why do I have to be small??? The two just don't go together!
~stacey Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #47
I find being small allows me to deliver a more powerful 'punch' to people... they don't expect such from a shorty!
~wolf Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #48
hahaha!! you guys are a riot! i hate high heels too, but wear them when i dress up because i like how i feel in them. i really like wearing my lace up ropers! i feel really cool in them. and us short folks do pack quite a punch don't we?
~stacey Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #49
wallop!
~PT Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #50
When I was in the army, platform jump boots were all the rage. When I wore them, I had to duck to walk through a normal door.
~jgross Tue, Dec 22, 1998 (19:13) #51
without platforms I'm as short as a bullsnake with 'em I feel like I can fall from 2000 feet without 'em I'm always the one who has to bend down and pick up the soap when we take a shower. with 'em I do a kinda hawk squawk like Jake Poogly and people look up to the sky for some bird or something. without 'em I hang with the polterguys and do the silent scream alot. with 'em it is fantastique and I plonk plunk plink plonk alot. ok that's it.
~autumn Sat, Dec 26, 1998 (21:50) #52
Being tall means wearing flats all the time! Else I'd tower over everyone, and look pretty ungainly in the process.
~wolf Sat, Dec 26, 1998 (21:59) #53
i saw a young lady in wal-mart today who stood head and shoulders and torso above everybody else. i had to look at her a couple of times. felt bad for her. and you know what i thought? does she play basketball. isn't that so stereotypical?
~sure90 Fri, Aug 25, 2000 (20:43) #54

~wolf Sun, Oct 8, 2000 (22:48) #58
i've completely forgot what the alternative modelling agency was about. i think ree and i were going to start an agency for real women with hips and bellies!
~MarciaH Mon, Oct 9, 2000 (01:10) #59
Perhaps they are inventing an alternative to women? Men in drag? Yikes!!!
~sociolingo Mon, Oct 9, 2000 (08:35) #60
Well, if it's the earlier suggestion ....hey!!! I qualify!!! *smile*
~wolf Mon, Oct 9, 2000 (12:14) #61

~MarciaH Mon, Oct 9, 2000 (19:28) #62
