She's a famous talk show psychologist. And a multimillionaire at that. I'll do a quick web search: Dr. Laura Schlesinger Radio Talk Show Host and Author Dr. Laura Schlesinger was born in Brooklyn, NY. She earned her Ph.D in Physiology from Columbia University (College of Physicians and Surgeons), NY, and a post-doctoral certification in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Since 1994 her talk-radio show, The Dr. Laura Show, has grown swiftly in popularity across the United States. The show focuses on human problems and relationships. Dr. Laura advocates taking personal responsibility for one's life and behavior rather than blaming others, a philosophy which is a vivid contrast to that of popular psychology. She has published several bestselling books, beginning with "10 Stupid Things Women do to Mess up Their Lives", "10 Stupid Things Men Do To Mess Up Their Lives", "How Could You Do That? The Abdication of Character, Courage and Conscience", and most recently, "The Ten Commandments: The Significance of Gods Laws in Everyday Life." Dr. Laura Schlesinger holds a black belt in martial arts. She is married to Dr. Lewis G. Bishop and they have one son, Deryk. Hers is one of the highest rated radio talk shows in the US. I've never heard it because I have no use for self-help programs. (Well, actually I probably do, and that's why I don't tune them in :-)

I hear Vanity Fair did an article on her recently, and tore her apart. She's apparently something of a bitch and not someone who lives up to the advice she gives her callers. For example, she was living with her current husband while he was still married to his previous wife. She claims to be an Orthodox Jew but doesn't dress like a woman of that faith would dress (obviously!)
~mikeg Tue, Nov 3, 1998 (18:34) #6
Interesting stuff - so um, are those rather rude pictures of her, then?
~wolf Tue, Nov 3, 1998 (19:21) #7
i don't think any orthodox jew would take pics like that. see what fame does to you?
~riette Wed, Nov 4, 1998 (04:29) #8
Disgusting. It shouldn't be called fame, it should be called, 'THINGhood'.
~terry Wed, Nov 4, 1998 (12:38) #9
I heard on a talk show that the pictures were dug up out of her distant past and she, rightly, claims that she can't be accountable for them and they weren't her idea to post on the net.

votes for who think's they're disgusting/not disgustin g then:
~autumn Wed, Nov 4, 1998 (21:10) #11
I find them neither disgusting nor particularly erotic. But those tan lines have got to go!
~riette Thu, Nov 5, 1998 (02:05) #12
I could not care less about the pics. I just cannot respect these rich, famous clowns who claim to be orthodox jews (or victims of bad childhoods or whatever) like it's some kind of neat accessory.
~mikeg Fri, Nov 6, 1998 (16:52) #13
Gotta agree with both of you there. They're in now way erotic (home-made phtos never seem to be - ahem :) and what Riette said is right on the button.

Thank you, darling! Oh, and I'll remember to bring my home-made photos on the plane.....I haven't heard you cringe yet!
~mikeg Sat, Nov 7, 1998 (07:28) #15
ummm...what kind of homde-made photos riette???
~riette Sat, Nov 7, 1998 (16:45) #16
All sorts...ALL sorts. My husband is a real intellectual maniac - besides the collecting of sickbags, he is conducting a sort of hobby study in which he is trying to count the expressions that move across the human face. And what better human to use than one that's always around? The wife, in this case. He started four years ago, shortly after we got married, and is still going strong - but don't ask me how many he has counted. He writes a mixture of scientific observation, poetry and prose about it on his baby computer, an I'm not allowed to read it. At this point he is so obsessed that he takes pictures when I'm asleep, when I wake up, when I eat, when I tell the children off for something, you name it. Plus he's branching out to the rest of the body, saying he wants to link the facial expressions to the bodily expressions in the end. So God knows where it's all going to lead - if the police should ever lay their hands on it, he's going to have a really hard time explaining! But don't worry, I was just kidding when I said I'd bring them on the plane - I won't inflict any of it on you, I promise.

Hahaha...so no rude, sexy photos then! I was worried I might blush for a moment! I can imagine that your face will be so wild, Ree-darling, that I won't need photos to look at.
~terry Sun, Nov 8, 1998 (00:55) #18
Pretty good skit on Dr. Laura just now on SNL, depicting her as a wise ass kind of.
~riette Sun, Nov 8, 1998 (02:19) #19
Didn't say there weren't any rude, (un)sexy photos... And what did it say exactly, Terry?
~terry Sun, Nov 8, 1998 (02:53) #20
It was just a take off on her talk show, with references to the Internet pics.
~wolf Thu, May 6, 1999 (17:10) #21

and I thought a couple of the pictures were actually very attractive, of course those were some of the ones where she wasn't completely nekkie...
~riette Tue, May 11, 1999 (10:16) #31
Of course not. Just down to the thighs. Or wearing her swim suit the wrong way around...
