I wasn't even thinking of Selleck, and I doubt Marcia was either. I remembered a movie where John Candy was driving a red sports car. I don't look anything like Magnum (I WISH!). I used to play softball on the same team with him in Honolulu--Tom is an absolutely great guy. I could also be happy playing (or being) Courtney Cox's boyfriend. But thanks. That picture (about five years old) does me too much justice. I hope the station paid the photog (who is now retired) well. (and yes, a red Ferrari T
starossa would do fine).

No, I was not thinking of Magnum (Selleck)...Selleck is Selleck and Burnett is Burnett. Both are unique and cherished individuals and both of whom I have met. I'll take Burnett because he is not quite as shy as Selleck and I can get more than just a few words out of him *grin*

John, Lotte Lenya (sometimes written Lenja) indeed was in Bert Brecht's Dreigroschen-Oper, as it's originally called.
The Musik was by Kurt Weill, who emigrated in the 30ies to save his life, and worked from then on in the US. There's a recording of the original early 30ies cast available (incl. some scores from French movie versions), and for people liking Weill's work, two tribute CDs with curious new interpretations. If somebody is interested, I could look that up...
If I get that right, Weill and Lenya were married. There's one Bond-movie with her in it - perhaps "From Russia with Love"? There's a scene where she plays an elderly maiden in a hotel, with these SPRIMGblade-shoes, and attacks somebody. Of course she's East German secret service...
Hard-bodied, uh? What'd you think that comes from, Terry! A secret agent's trainings cycle is at least as hard as a publisher's - there's all these dry Martinis, the champagne and hors d'oeuvre, rope-swinging, funds-swiping and bullet-dodging. Plus the martial arts-stuff: vodka-downing, exotic cheese-guessing, seafood-digesting. And then there's all that suff you hafta to do to all these people: arm-twisting, feet-stepping and nose-thumping.
It's one hell of a job, but somebody's gotta do it.
Ok, so the comparison doesn't hit on the nail squarely enough. Sue me, everybody! That was at least rapid (rabid?) response posting...

What 'drool topic for Ree'???? Don't be silly, woman! I'm only as desirable as the nerd I am, and that's how that business goes from beginning to end. No flocking men at social occasions like with you .... I wonder who SHOULD be jealous around here!
Wolfie, you MUST post us your picture! I was just being horribly rude about Hugh Grant, whom I actually don't dislike in pictures. Frankly I'd rather have gentlly rotting teeth than an ar$e like two condemned pieces of veal. So, PLEEEEZE!
