Got a problem with another participant that you want
to talk about publicly? This is the place. Mediation
will occur just because that's the way we are...

i'm not too sure it is. grievances might be best handled in the
confs where they begin as well as via email between the parties
involved and the hosts. the hosts are really the important parts
of the process.

oh. so none of you guys get into a fight in poetry. i'm not a good mediator and will end up crying in the corner. oh why did i say that...now you all will wanna see it happen!

But, as we have seen, when a grievance is with a host,
it spreads across conferences...I just figured that if
we had a specific place for them (yeah, I know, like
we're going to limit ourselves to a topic...) then maybe
the problem could be handled more appropriately because
it would be a)in a centralized, neutral location and
b)if it is handled in here, new people are less likely to get
hit up side the head when they inadvertantly stumble across
a bit of nastiness in a seemingly innocent topic...
Just an idea and the topic can be killed just as easily as
it was created...

a fun way to get out the aggression, look at
what happened in there...same thing for jihad
in screwed...)

Grievence:
Mike, the now ghost of a host in Babes, killed Marcia's topic after genuine objections were raised...
****This is what I tried to post there before I realized it was frozen****
Mike...
Those were genuine issues...
what the heck are you doing???
whose gonna keep your babes topic alive since you're never around anymore if we can't play too???
*******
I don't wanna go to drool...
but I wanna be able to talk about babes too...
boy ones...
*grump*
Most importantly I'm miffed 'cause Mike said he'd freeze it unless genuine issues were raised objecting to the freeze...
Well... there were objections...
you never commented/addressed/validated them...
you just froze us out...
*grrr*
(can't growl as well as wolfie but that's how I feel)
couldn't we take a vote??

I see that I have had my plate tectonics information removed from www.spring.net and a plea for Christine to return in bigger letters than I ever got has replaced me. Ok...fine...taking my toys elsewhere and you can jolly well wait till the Spring turns to dust before she ever sees it.
It would not be so bad if Geo was in the options on the left table, but apparently the power that is does not think it worthy. How could he? He has never been into Geo except to create a topic and leave it there floundering.
Btw, when someone with more wisdom, in this case, put the plate tectonics on www.spring.net, it attracted Mike's attention and we all discovered that he is not only a Geologist in real life, but is doing his thesis on Plate Tectonics.
Have I made my point or shall I sharpen it some more?

We're going to rotate different content on to the main page. I'd like to get you co-authoring the main page. Have you gotten in to Front Page 2000 yet, Marci? I'd actually like to have an authoring team like they do with austen.com and firth.com.

I really did not have a reason to have it until this moment as I use Netscape Composer (lame, but does the job) for the Booster Club newsletter. I'll check it out. That space would be best used to showcase an otherwise unadvertised conference like SpringArk, Collecting, History, Geo or any of the other "new" conferences which might not appeal on first glance. Geo seeems to be very off-putting for many. I guess they think it is stuffy and dull and pedantic. Not the case at all. Check it out, PLEASE!!! (Sorry I was so out of joint yesterday when I posted...)
