What are your hot American restaurants?
~KitchenManager Sat, Nov 8, 1997 (02:33) #1
Chronicle readers say: Threadgill's

It's a great place to eat out, especially their broccoli rice casserole, but don't take your American Express card. And watch out for Janis Joplins ghost.

All U Can Eat mashed potatos!!!
~terry Mon, Nov 10, 1997 (12:37) #4

~terry Mon, Nov 10, 1997 (13:17) #6

~KitchenManager Tue, Dec 9, 1997 (00:31) #11
Missed ya, stacey, I have been needing some o' your laughter.
~terry Tue, Dec 9, 1997 (01:01) #12
Really, glad Stacey's back!
~stacey Tue, Dec 9, 1997 (11:19) #13
Aww. I got the warm fuzzies going on! Sorry I was away for so long. After I was done fooling around on the California beaches, I had a new position to get used to. (Job, WER. The other positions aren't too difficult to adjust to!)
~KitchenManager Tue, Dec 9, 1997 (12:44) #14
Ooh, she's versatile AND limber!
~stacey Tue, Dec 9, 1997 (19:17) #15
Woo Woo!
~terry Tue, Dec 9, 1997 (23:33) #16
Make way for the woo woo express. What's the new position?
~KitchenManager Wed, Dec 10, 1997 (00:04) #17
Don't know, she hasn't shown me all of her old ones, yet...
~stacey Wed, Dec 10, 1997 (10:45) #18
*cackle* Well, Paul, the position you probably speak of is self contained ED (emotionally disturbed/disabled (blah blah!)) teacher. Eight boys with some pretty severe problems. They are all very angry, have been severely physically, sexually and mentally abused. A great bunch of kids with some strong aversion to authority and physical contact. It's a challenge.
~terry Sat, Dec 13, 1997 (20:17) #19
How has this been going?
~stacey Mon, Dec 15, 1997 (19:31) #20
Well. Exhausting but challenging. And, of course, rewarding.
~terry Tue, Dec 16, 1997 (00:23) #21
This was like a lateral move for you? You're still at the same school?
~stacey Wed, Dec 17, 1997 (11:11) #22
yes and yes.
~stacey Thu, Jun 4, 1998 (16:42) #23
what IS America food anyway? Considering we are supposed to be a melting pot and all... Is it fondue?
~KitchenManager Thu, Jun 4, 1998 (19:11) #24
mashed potatoes and gravy, I think...
~stacey Fri, Jun 5, 1998 (10:12) #25
Thought that was an Irish delicacy?

Hills (Bob Coles joint) is great for celebrating mayoral elections and meeting Kinky Friedman. Magnolia has awesome breakfasts. Z Tejas is impressive and a good place to take out of towners.
