~nan Wed, Nov 26, 1997 (00:24) #1
Sportsmistress Marilyn...where shall we begin? I can think of three or four that would do very nicely. BTW, I just love the number of this topic! LOL! :-D
~Marilyn Wed, Nov 26, 1997 (13:16) #2
LMAO!!! So appropriate, isn't it Nan?? I love this topic!!! Hmmmm... I'd like to start with a certain dangerous, goateed Brazilian, but I don't know how to insert an image into a message - help me Nan!!
~nan Wed, Nov 26, 1997 (21:19) #3
(Marilyn) I'd like to start with a certain dangerous, goateed Brazilian, Good choice...works for me. but I don't know how to insert an image into a message - help me Nan!! Send me the photos by email and I'll stick them in my file. After that I'll give you the URLs and you can post them to your heart's content, dearest ;-)
~Suzanne1 Mon, Dec 1, 1997 (23:32) #4
Forgive me for placing such a larghe phot but I had to. Jacques Villeneuve is definately droolworthy, and I hope you will agree with me onec you see his picture. I love car racing, Jacques drives in Formula 1, and he is currently my biggest celebrity crush, enjoythe picture ladies:) I hope this works, sorry if it didn't.
~Suzanne1 Mon, Dec 1, 1997 (23:34) #5
Sorry for the really bad typing in the previous post, I swear I can spell properly :)
~nan Tue, Dec 2, 1997 (11:03) #6
Suzanne! My, oh, my! *sluuurp* It took a little while to load, but it was worth the wait. ;-) I just love a clean man! Marilyn, dearest--it looks as though you've found another kindred spirit. Suzanne, here's Marilyn's favorite Brazilian: Dontcha just love his lips? ;-)...
~nan Tue, Dec 2, 1997 (11:08) #7
And, of course, my favorite (the big, mean one on the left ;-p) ...
~Suzanne1 Tue, Dec 2, 1997 (15:20) #8
Well sports lovers you two have great taste. Please enlighten me as to who the Brazilian is, he looks like he is in racing garb? Am I right? And a hockey lover, well besides racing hockey is definately a favorite of mine.
~Marilyn Tue, Dec 2, 1997 (20:06) #9
Villeneuve Lord, Suzanne - I had no idea Jacques was so built under that racing uniform - gotta love those arms! The last time I saw him he had bleached his hair snow white - is this a recent photo?? Thanks for sharing - he's beautiful! Who else makes you happy?? ;-) Fittipaldi That lovely Brazilian boy Nan so graciously posted is Christian Fittipaldi - in fact, he used to race with Jacques before he left CART for F1. He has a nice butt to match those lips... Messier Ooooh, Nan, the "wet dream" photo (aka, "legs") - could we have a better start for "69"??? Thanks, dearest, that beautiful beast always makes me swoon (betcha didn't know that, did you??) LOL!! Nan, since Suzanne likes hockey, could I bribe you to post a photo of Joe?? Yum!
~nan Wed, Dec 3, 1997 (01:45) #10
MESSIER (Marilyn) Ooooh, Nan, the "wet dream" photo (aka, "legs") - could we have a better start for "69"??? I can think of nothing mor appropriate ;-D Thanks, dearest, that beautiful beast always makes me swoon (betcha didn't know that, did you??) LOL!! I'm very delighted that you see the same raw beauty I do (many don't). But he's mine and I have it in writing! LOL! ;-D Nan, since Suzanne likes hockey, could I bribe you to post a photo of Joe?? Yum! Bribe? Certainly not--all you need do is ask, dearest ;-) As always, we are of the same mind my friend--I happened to scan a little Joe photo today (along with a few others). Enjoy! The excellent (and quite adorable) Mr. Sakic... The great, Pat LaFontaine (aka the biggest eyeballs in the NHL) :-D And this little gem I found in an old Hockey News--made me want to weep ;-(
~nan Wed, Dec 3, 1997 (01:53) #11
Oh, that last one gives me the tingles..."Mount Rushmore smiling" *BIG PANT* Marilyn dearest, do you want a hard copy of that one? I made one for myself and the color copier did beautiful things to it...yet another thing to frame for the bathroom walls! LOL! :-) Oh, one more before I pack it in for the night. Mess with more hair and a really bad attitude. YUM!;-D
~nan Thu, Dec 4, 1997 (10:59) #12
Marilyn, dear--I found another little Joe photo--
~Marilyn Thu, Dec 4, 1997 (15:33) #13
Joe, Pat, Mess & Wayne Oh, Nan, Joe is so pretty (sigh)--and that boulevardier is just plain scary--especially with attitude--SLUUURP! Many thanks, and yes, dearest, a hard copy of the darling duo (sob) would be much appreciated!! :-) I have to say the great Pat is registering with me lately - it's the eyes and those fabulous eyelashes, and I didn't realize he had such a nice chin till now. I just hope he keeps that cute head attached this year. ;-) Thanks for the great NHL eye orgy!! ;-D Now, let's not leave the NHL till we see the gorgeous Mike Modano - can you help me Nan?? ;-)
~Suzanne1 Thu, Dec 4, 1997 (16:54) #14
Mike Modano I picked this up for you Marily, I hope you enjoy it :)
~nan Thu, Dec 4, 1997 (16:57) #15
JOE (Marilyn) Oh, Nan, Joe is so pretty (sigh) And sweaty...very important ;-p I have to say the great Pat is registering with me lately - it's the eyes and those fabulous eyelashes, and I didn't realize he had such a nice chin till now. I just hope he keeps that cute head attached this year. ;-) Shhhhh!!! We don't want to jinx him. Hockey fnas are the most notoriously superstitious people on the planet ;-D While I completely understand the appeal, Pat's not really my type. Then again, he could look like the hind end of a baboon for all I care--when you're that talented it makes no difference to me. All that matters is that he keeps scoring and stays healthy. Thanks for the great NHL eye orgy!! ;-D Now, let's not leave the NHL till we see the gorgeous Mike Modano - can you help me Nan?? ;-) Oh, yes...I forgot you have a little thing fo him. Very well, dearest. I always keep some old copies of The Hockey News, The NHL Yearbooks, etc. under my desk...never know when they'll come in handy. Like now, for instance: BTW, dearest...looks like you haven't heard. Modano is out for 4-6 weeks with a knee injury. Damn! He's on the US team too :-(
~nan Thu, Dec 4, 1997 (17:00) #16
So, Suzanne...what NHLers can I hunt down for you? Humor me, I love this stuff...;-)
~Marilyn Thu, Dec 4, 1997 (17:54) #17
Thanks, sweet pals!! Yes, Suzanne, I really enjoyed that one!! And Nan, you know how I like him all sweaty and stubbly - that lovely shot is a keeper!! So fortunate for me and Suzanne that you keep the NHL yearbook and THN at work! ;-) I did read about his injury this morning--my first thought was purely selfish, like I wouldn't be seeing him in action for 6 weeks, and what a shame since he's leading in points--but I hadn't thought about the Olympics!! ;-( Okay, if I can impose on you one more time--can you share a little Brian Noonan, Teemu Selanne, and Bill Guerin?? Thanks for indulging me. ;-)
~Suzanne1 Thu, Dec 4, 1997 (18:17) #18
Well Nan to tell you the truth I am a die hard Canadiens fan (Yay Montreal). And of course there are acouple ex-Canadiens that I love Kirk Muller and Pierre Turgeon. In the end though all roads lead to Jacques Villneuve for me.
~nan Mon, Jan 5, 1998 (17:34) #19
Ah, Marilyn darling...I was sifting through some old stuff and picked these out just for you... I'll send you the article, honey. Sorry, no goatee ;-p
~Marilyn Tue, Jan 6, 1998 (12:52) #20
Oh, Nan, they're lovely - you indulge your old pal so well! No goatee, but I get to see him reclining on something other than ice - and such a kissable, sweet face! Looking forward to reading the article, thanks dearest. :-)
~terry Wed, Jan 7, 1998 (12:01) #21
I once had a fantasy about a UT women's basketball player. Then one day I was in Trudy's and she walking in and stood next to me, she about about 6-8. I was speechless, couldn't even get it up to ask her to have coffee with me. Other women's sports figures? I'll have to think about this.
~LauraMM Wed, Jan 7, 1998 (14:23) #22
It must be really bad when one cannot not get it up:)
~terry Tue, Jan 13, 1998 (12:02) #23
Any choices stand out on this year's Superbowl teams? The Bronchos and Packers.
~LauraMM Tue, Jan 13, 1998 (13:17) #24
The Packers, unfortunately. From a New England Pats fan
~nan Fri, Jan 16, 1998 (15:33) #25
Marilyn, dearest--see how fast I put your articles to use? Such a man! ;-) Oh the things those sponsors make you do... And one of my favorites...right before faceoff ;-)
~nan Tue, Feb 17, 1998 (17:51) #26
For Lesley ;-) Ooh, I like him honey! ;-D
~nan Tue, Feb 17, 1998 (18:02) #27
Oh drat! Trying again...
~nan Tue, Feb 17, 1998 (18:03) #28
Bummer! I'll find some others...
~marshA Tue, Feb 17, 1998 (18:48) #29
What a *droolworthy* page. I'm in the right place! And yes, great number for the topic, ladies! Now, anybody have a picture of the best musketeer? :-)
~LesleyGale Wed, Feb 18, 1998 (00:40) #30
Ooooh Nan! I love him! I want more...SOB...I need more! ;-D
~nan Wed, Feb 18, 1998 (10:48) #31
For Marsha: I "borrowed" this from a net Candeloro page. Of course, it's in a language I don't understand, but the photos are great ;-) Take a look: Candeloro Lesley, dear--you made it! Great! Here's another for you ;-)
~nan Wed, Feb 18, 1998 (10:50) #32
I "borrowed" this from a net Candeloro page. That was supposed to be a neat Candeloro page ;-p
~marshA Wed, Feb 18, 1998 (11:37) #33
Ooooooh-ooooooooh! Thanks. Now I know why D'Artagnan was so popular :-)
~marshA Sun, Feb 22, 1998 (19:31) #34
Nan, I fould a lovely Candeloro page, with great pictures (including a shirtless one :-). How do I post it here?
~nan Mon, Feb 23, 1998 (17:28) #35
Oooh Marsha...that Candeloro page was very pretty!:-) I didn't want to use her pictures without asking so I'm just going to post a link to that page. Lesley...go look, great stuff! http://members.tripod.com/~Candeloro/index.html
~marshA Tue, Feb 24, 1998 (01:06) #36
Take a look at that shirtless picture!! It will take me 15 minutes to get back to normal :-)
~lisaC Wed, Feb 25, 1998 (20:41) #37
Dear Nan, I know you're a huge Mark Messier fan, so I was wondering if you've seen the latest Lays potato chip commercial. I don't know whether Lays is a Canadian product only but I saw the commercial here tonight for the first time and thought of you. I wasn't paying too much attention, mind you, but suffice it to say Mr. Messier was teaching a Russian hockey player how to say words that describe chips, like crunch, tasty etc... Anyway, let me get to the point, he looks damn good! He's wearing a black leather jacket and his head is finely shaved, I liked his appearance. I just wanted you to be on the look-out for the commercial. I can understand your admiration, the man is gorgeous!
~nan Thu, Feb 26, 1998 (21:14) #38
Oh Lisa!! That must be a Canadian commercial...I've never seen it :-( And it sounds so appetizing too! Maybe it will make it's way here. Isn't he too fabulous? Not really classically handsome, but he just reeks of...of...testosterone ;-p I miss seeing him play all the time and was sorry he didn't make the Canadian hockey team. Please, do keep me informed. thanks for the heads up, honey :-)
~lisaC Fri, Feb 27, 1998 (10:02) #39
I couldn't understand why he didn't make the team. A lot of decisions about that team irked me. I'm not very proficient in hockey, in fact the last time I watched a full fledged hockey game was about 7 years ago, I'd say, but I know who's good and who isn't. I don't understand why Gretzky wasn't chosen as one of the shooters against Hashek. He's the greatest player ever and he wasn't chosen? Weird, very weird. Your Mr. Messier reeks of testosterone. That's exactly it. I was trying to figure out what it was about him and you hit the nail on the head.... then man is so potently masculine.
~zx6rider Wed, Mar 4, 1998 (22:12) #40
Who is the wizard bringing in all these fine photos? Does anyone have the poster done by the German speed skater... the one where all she's wearing is a painted on speed suit and her skates? It's pretty amazing... god, what's her name?
~nan Thu, Mar 5, 1998 (00:30) #41
Sorry, Lisa...I thought I answered this days ago...guess I wrote the reply and didn't post it. Duh! Lucky I kept a copy ;-) (Lisa) I couldn't understand why he didn't make the team. No one understood it, including those who did make the team. Apparently Bobby Clarke (GM of Team Canada) thought the younger players were "ready" to win without the older, veteran players. Obviously they couldn't leave Gretzky off the team, so they chose to omit Mark who is 37--the same age as Wayne. Also, there was some talk of this olympic team being built around Eric Lindros (often compared to a young Messier). Eric Lindros plays for the Flyers. Bobby Clarke is the GM of the Flyers...see a conne tion? I don't understand why Gretzky wasn't chosen as one of the shooters against Hashek. He's the greatest player ever and he wasn't chosen? Weird, very weird. That was just Marc Crawford (Team Canadas coach) going with a gut feeling. I agree, Gretzky is the best all around hockey player in the history of the sport. When he was younger, he was virtually unstoppable, but the last few years hes been more of an assist man than a goal scorer. I guess Marc Crawford was going with shooters who have been more successful (recently) with breakaways. Actually, I thought Brendan Shanahan was a good choice...Im sorry it didnt go in. Your Mr. Messier I like your choice of words, honey :-) I was trying to figure out what it was about him and you hit the nail on the head.... then man is so potently masculine. Ooh...potently masculine gave me a vision! (Where is Marilyn for this conversation?) Yes...thats precisely right--Mess is all man...all 205 lbs of him ;-) I love that scary, intimidating expression on his face which, coincidentally is called The Look ;-) I love that all his features are exaggerated. I love that when he smiles, it looks like Mt. Rushmore laughing. See... Oh, and it doesnt hurt that he is one of the finest hockey players on the planet :-) (gena) Who is the wizard bringing in all these fine photos? No wizard, gena...just me ;-) Love that hockey! Does anyone have the poster done by the German speed skater... the one where all she's wearing is a painted on speed suit and her skates? I've never even heard of it...sounds like an intersting photo, though. Is that similar to Demi Moore's Vanity Fair cover where the business suit is painted on her?
~nan Thu, Mar 5, 1998 (00:51) #42
*sigh*... :-/
~lisaC Thu, Mar 5, 1998 (14:43) #43
I've never liked Eric Lindros, even though if he is incredibly handsome. He seems a bit stuck up to me and quite full of himself. My brother did mention to me that he was chosen as captain of Team Canada because of Bobby Clarke, which I think was a stupid. He seems kind of young to be the captain, when Gretzky was right there. All these politics in sports and favoritisms annoy me. Just do what's best for the team. Nan, there's a second Lays potato chip commercial as well. This time Your Mr. Messier is giving a press conference after he's come off the ice, he's all sweaty and chewing on the chips. Too bad you can't see it and tape it.
~nan Thu, Mar 5, 1998 (16:08) #44
This time Your Mr. Messier is giving a press conference after he's come off the ice, he's all sweaty and chewing on the chips. Aaaaagh!! It's torture!! ;-D They may find their way herr...though Messier is not nearly the same celebrity in most of the US as he is in Canada. *sigh*
~nan Wed, May 6, 1998 (10:54) #45
In an attempt to lure Marilyn back...
~lisaC Wed, May 13, 1998 (17:21) #46
Sorry, it's not Marilyn OK. Who are these two? The guy on the left looks like a Canadian hockey player I saw in a commercial for some cereal. I really know nothing about hockey, except that the season, which is pointless to begin with since they play all year to eliminate 8 teams from the playoffs, drags on forever. The blond on the right is a mystery. He's good-looking but a mystery to me as well.
~nan Wed, May 13, 1998 (18:30) #47
(Marilyn) Sorry, it's not Marilyn You don't have to be Marilyn, honey ;-) But she's my hockey pal, ya see... OK. Who are these two? The guy on the left looks like a Canadian hockey player I saw in a commercial for some cereal. They are both Canadian hockey players and both with the Detroit Red Wings: Brendan Shanahan on the left and Steve Yzerman on the right. I posted these 2 because Marilyn has a particular weakness for them ;-) The blond on the right is a mystery. He's good-looking but a mystery to me as well. There are lots of very handsome hockey players out there. Since you're in Canada, you ignore them from hockey-overload. In the US, they are ignored because they don't play basketball or baseball...*sigh*
~nan Mon, Jun 1, 1998 (20:45) #48
~nan Mon, Jun 1, 1998 (20:50) #49
(I'm indulging Marilyn again) Well honey, until I get to scanning back issues of The Hockey News I'm dipping into my archives to hold you over ;-) Remember, now....MINE! ;-D Got carried away with PhotoShop one day... From his club-hopping days in NY. With Mickey Rourke at China Club... Note: Only Mess could get away with wearing plaid flannel to China Club ;-p And a nice, big, juicy, stubbly one...
~marilyn Tue, Jun 2, 1998 (01:55) #50
Oh, Nan, you've been holding out on me!! I now have a new favorite Messier photo - need I tell you which one that would be?? And you know you're not playing fair with me - show me that sexy mouth, open no less, and tell me he's YOURS! Now, puhleeze, indulge me more - dust off those old THNs and find me some more Brendan Shanahan, okay old pal???
~Nan11 Fri, Jul 31, 1998 (23:05) #51
Oh geez, I just reloaded this whole topic and I realized that the URLs changed when Spring.com changed to Spring.net. This will never do! not nearly enough Messier photos here. Posting some again (hoping to lure Marilyn out of the lurkdom) :-) Let's try this...
~Nan11 Fri, Jul 31, 1998 (23:23) #52

Aaah, now that's better...
~terry Sat, Aug 1, 1998 (06:07) #55
Are y'all droolin' over any of the folks chasing after the home run record? (Ken Griffey Jr, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire). Who's y'alls favoite NBA player? NFL?
~Nan11 Sat, Aug 1, 1998 (11:57) #56
(Terry) Are y'all droolin' over any of the folks chasing after the home run record? (Ken Griffey Jr, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire). Who's y'alls favoite NBA player? NFL? Terry, I'm afraid my drool mechanism only works with hockey players, so I'm ill-equipped to answer. Well, ladies? You heard the man! Answer the question ;-)
~MEC Fri, Aug 7, 1998 (21:48) #57
Wow alot of activity here. Mr. Messier sure ranks up there. its so hard to get past the bodies of sports figures. nice faces though are: Troy Aitkins, Jeff Gordon, Michael Jordan. Tough guys are: Mark McGuire, Len Dykstra, Mark Messier (ok Nan he has a nice face too)
~Nan11 Fri, Aug 7, 1998 (22:15) #58
(MEC) Mark Messier (ok Nan he has a nice face too) Aaah, my guy :-) Actually, I really like the fact that he's not classically handsome. His features are all just a bit "too". His eyes are too deeply set. His jaw is too square. His mouth is too large. And all those scars--woo hoo! I just love a man who has seen some action, sister! :-D Oh, I should tell you. It's common knowledge on this board (in this Conference, I suppose) that he's MINE...so don't get too grabby, missy! Go scale Michael Jordan ;-p
~Passionata Sun, Aug 9, 1998 (07:57) #59
Now...Emmanuel Petit... That's the ticket! Anyone have a pic of this man?
~riette Tue, Aug 11, 1998 (00:53) #60
No idea who he is! Frankie Fredericks is my man - and my fellow Namibian.
~Nan11 Tue, Aug 11, 1998 (01:02) #61
(Riette)No idea who he is! Excellent! Then we won't fight over him :-) I have to beat that Marilyn chick off him with a stick ;-p Frankie Fredericks is my man - and my fellow Namibian. See, I don't know him. Got any pictures?
~riette Tue, Aug 11, 1998 (06:07) #62
Afraid not - but he is the coloured guy who runs the 200m and the 400m so well. He has such a beautiful body, it's not even funny. And I'm glad you don't know him either - I know you'd just want to steal him away from me if you did!
~MEC Tue, Aug 25, 1998 (22:07) #63
I thought I might catch the adorable Jeff Gordon here!
~nan Tue, Aug 25, 1998 (23:18) #64
(MEC) I thought I might catch the adorable Jeff Gordon here! Yeah, well this pain the ass at work had me there until after 7pm typing her report ;-p Here you go, baby...came out well, yes?
~MEC Wed, Aug 26, 1998 (20:49) #65
Good job Nan and so colorful. Now if you could only figure out how to send HIM directly to me!
~nan Wed, Aug 26, 1998 (22:21) #66
(MEC)Now if you could only figure out how to send HIM directly to me! Sorry, babe...I just deal in fantasy ;-p
