Was it something old, something new, something borrowed, or just some blues?
~terry Fri, Apr 2, 1999 (09:11) #1
Just the music on this website earlier, Beth Jones and her band playing in Realaudio. She's the one with the white streak in her hair on the video caps.

Easter classics, I love 'em.
~stacey Wed, Apr 7, 1999 (18:24) #3
Lots o' old American tunage in Europe. In fact I believe that's all I ever heard except when we were in the Philharmonic... oooh... I take that back. The French played French music believe it or not!!
~aschuth Wed, Apr 7, 1999 (19:11) #4
Europe is where your outdated entertainers go, if Florida ain't an option. We got Tina Turner and Joe Cocker still appearing on big open airs every summer (and Tina lives somewhere over here, too, I've heard. Something about "more civilized men", wonder where she got THAT idea from.). There IS german music, but not on every channel. Most german acts would sing in ingles. By the way: Hi Stacey! Missed you! (Not only on that Sunday...)
~stacey Wed, Apr 7, 1999 (19:48) #5
Hiya yerself! I logged in once from Prague... to lessen the withdrawl all were having! (thanks for the welcome home! i missed you too!)
~aschuth Thu, Apr 8, 1999 (13:21) #6
(Yeah, that's what they always say, especially after having only hung out on Inner, where lowly creatures like me are not admitted...)
~KitchenManager Thu, Apr 8, 1999 (14:02) #7
(it's got nothing to do with being lowly...)
~stacey Thu, Apr 8, 1999 (14:44) #8
everyone remember Lowly Worm... Richard Scarry... ???
~KitchenManager Thu, Apr 8, 1999 (19:45) #9
yep...used to watch him with Zoe...
~stacey Fri, Apr 9, 1999 (13:58) #10
'watch' him??? like he's on tv now?
~autumn Fri, Apr 9, 1999 (17:47) #11
Stacey, you really got to get yourself a TV set, girl.
~stacey Fri, Apr 9, 1999 (20:05) #12
*furrowed brow* NO, NO, NO... (i don't have the willpower!)
~KitchenManager Sat, Apr 10, 1999 (00:55) #13
yes you do
~KitchenManager Sat, Apr 10, 1999 (01:09) #14
anyway, there's a cartoon on called, "The Busy World of Richard Scary"
~stacey Sun, Apr 11, 1999 (00:22) #15
wow. it used to be Busy Town... now it's a whole world... *sigh*
~KitchenManager Sun, Apr 11, 1999 (01:21) #16
well, after tonight (right now, actually) no one will be exposed to music at Electric Lounge...
~autumn Sun, Apr 11, 1999 (17:22) #17
Yeah, there's a plan in the works for a "Busy Universe."
~aschuth Mon, Apr 12, 1999 (14:12) #18
*?*
~stacey Mon, Apr 12, 1999 (20:00) #19
what in the hell happened to the Electric Lounge... and don't give me any of that horrible BS that people have been saying about Liberty Lunch and the whole warehouse district...
~stacey Mon, Apr 12, 1999 (20:03) #20
... or I will not be very happy.
~KitchenManager Tue, Apr 13, 1999 (00:16) #21
the wifey says they closed 'cause they didn't have the money to stay open...
~KitchenManager Tue, Apr 13, 1999 (00:18) #22
(noise, rent increase, and alcohol tax increase...)
~stacey Tue, Apr 13, 1999 (13:13) #23
*sniff sniff* another one bites the dust. Austin is looking less and less like the home I once knew.
~KitchenManager Tue, Apr 13, 1999 (21:02) #24
yep...good thing you found a new one, huh?
~stacey Tue, Apr 13, 1999 (23:17) #25
i suppose... i did rather like the old one though and entertained thoughts of returning one day

The CD "Six Billion Humans Can't be wrong" by Chris Korda and the Church of Euthanasia, out on Gigolo Records, Munich. Technoid stuff, occasionally a bit house-like, and some bits got great organs (hehe). Nice lyrics... Some tracks aren't too hot IMHO. Some are. AS HELL! Check out the Church and Rev. Chrissy: http://www.enviroweb.org/coe/ and enjoy! These are great environmentalists who know how to entertain the audience!
~MarciaH Fri, Aug 27, 1999 (20:00) #29
every day it is Hawaiian music in the background - but I much prefer classical from NetRadio.
~KitchenManager Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (01:50) #30
The CoE people are great!!!
~MarciaH Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (02:10) #31
...let me guess...not Church of England...huh?!
~mrchips Sat, Aug 28, 1999 (02:17) #32
I love the House of Blues website. Listened to Peter Frampton live yesterday. They also have over 200 concerts in their archives. Everything from blues to reggae to alternative to zydeco music! Sorry Marcia, no classical. But I was listening to my "Mozart's Greatest Hits" CD earlier today after school while grading papers. http://www.hob.com RealAudio or Windows Media Player
~aschuth Sun, Aug 29, 1999 (07:46) #33
No, that's not the Anglicans, but Rev. Chris Korda looks soo great! Great hair! Wer, what ya say, that serious competition for you in the skirts department? Also, I couldn't help but notice that the Viridian movement has many ideas the CoE share...
~MarciaH Sat, Feb 5, 2000 (19:39) #34
What music today? The stuff you can hear John Burnett play on KWXX on the internet and I can hear live and direct in Hilo. Is the CoE still thriving?
~sprin5 Sat, Feb 5, 2000 (21:29) #35
CoE?
~MarciaH Sat, Feb 5, 2000 (23:14) #36
Yes. There was a discussion of the Church of Euthanasia between Alexander and other posters further back on this topic...I assumed it was not Church of England, but here, one never knows!
~MarciaH Sat, Feb 5, 2000 (23:35) #37
Now it is tinny band music played in the background of a basketball game being sent over phone lines to Hilo as we are on the road.
~aschuth Sun, Feb 6, 2000 (16:59) #38
I guess Rev. Chrissie is still going strong and looking great! We exchanged one or two mails, I tried to get a article on them, but nothing developed. The record sold really well, I guess. With a hit track titled "Sex Is Good", small wonder.
~MarciaH Sun, Feb 6, 2000 (19:39) #39
No wonder they have an active and growing congregation! *lol* I'm gonna have to look into this Rev Chrissie person with the long locks.
~stacey Wed, Oct 30, 2002 (15:34) #40
Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits, Nickel Creek, Peter Gabriel, Indigo Girls... and of course Raffi!
~terry Wed, Oct 30, 2002 (15:41) #41
Raffi?
~stacey Wed, Oct 30, 2002 (16:03) #42
Children's singer... one of Kendall's faves AFTER Sheryl Crow!
~terry Thu, Oct 31, 2002 (08:53) #43
Sheryl Crow just got her own topic in 'babes'.
~MarciaH Tue, Feb 10, 2004 (22:50) #44
Classical, classic rock and bluegrass (can't avoid it!)
~wolf Tue, May 17, 2005 (21:24) #45
phantom of the opera soundtrack--my favorites are Phantom of the Opera (the overture and the song) and Music of the Night....
~cfadm Sat, May 28, 2005 (07:17) #46
I'm listening to lots of "podsafe" music. Music that I can play in my daily podcasts because they've been so devoid of music. I need an intro jingle! The rock and roll geek interview I did got me inspired! see http://austincast.com
~wolf Wed, Sep 21, 2005 (19:49) #47
i broke down and bought Rascal Flatts "Feels Like Today" CD--now i don't normally listen to country music (i do but my radio isn't stuck on that particular station) but these guys are great--particularly the words.
~wolf Mon, Jan 30, 2006 (20:22) #48
picked up the Broken Flowers soundtrack, not bad. it's different and some of the music (particularly, Mulatu Astatke) sounds like it was recorded straight from vinyl--which isn't bad at all. it feels informal and real, not like it had some studio magic.
~cfadm Fri, Mar 31, 2006 (20:16) #49
ZZ Top.
