Does anybody know a source for the
latest data on number of web servers on the Internet. The last number I have
is from Matthew Gray's page -- his Web Wanderer counted 230,000 in June.
Does anyone know where I could find more recent data?
http://www.genmagic.com/Internet/Trends
has some interesting data from a few months ago.

I wonder if we can host all this off a cable modem?
See http://www.dnshosting.com/index.html
It would save a hell of a lot!

DSLnetworks, a provider of high-speed digital subscriber
line (DSL) Internet connections, has introduced free
network-based firewall security software for all customers.
The system, based upon equipment from Nortel Networks and
called NetSentry, is intended to secure users' PCs from
"spoofing" attacks, in which hackers can gain access to
files or commandeer the PC for other uses due to its
always-on connection. NetSentry will be available
immediately, except in Southern California where it will
debut later this year.

Building a Web site can be a daunting task. You want to get
it up and running with all the bells and whistles, but you
have to be a code monkey for all that, plus the tools are
expensive--right? Wrong.
