xHTML is the new standard. Get used to it. Combined with CSS it makes much more sense to construct web pages using this technology. I woke up to it even more the other day when talking to David Watson of http://aodesign.com when he told me all their coding is done in xHTML. Since then I've been on a crash course to get my webpages optimized.

XMLmind XML Editor makes content authors more productive (more info), excels at editing a mix of XML data and XML document (more info), has an integrated spreadsheet engine which makes it suitable for a broad range of applications (more info), is highly extensible and its extensions are easy to deploy (more info). from http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/ Best thing, it's open source. I know I should just be using notebook but I'm attracted to crutches.

(Please help spread the word) Hey. I bet you never though your knowledge of the regular expression could ever help save peoples lives and reunited lost love ones who's lives were destroyed in our greatest national tragedy. But you are wrong. http://192.122.183.218/wiki/index.php/PeopleFinderTech There are 50+ websites that help people find the status of people the know who were living in New Orleans. But currently none of the data bases are synced and it is an absolute nightmare to try to find relevant information. But a bunch of industrious geeks have stepped up to help save the day.... Since Friday we have * Created a XML specification (PFIF - http://zesty.ca/pfif/) for data interchange between systems * Scraped the majority of structured data sets * Organized swaths of volunteer data entry people to key in virtually every unstructured piece of data (from craigslist, message boards, etc.) * Contacted and persuaded many site admins to implement PFIF on their sites But there is still a bunch of work left to do! We still need lots of help * Scraping and periodically rescraping the data sets * Helping site admins implement PFIF export for automated interchange * Deduping If you can help out please: * Read through http://192.122.183.218/wiki/index.php/PeopleFinderTech * Join our mailinglist: katrinadev@civicspacelabs.org * Contact Zack AIM: uberzacker Cell: 724 612 7641 * Jump in! http://192.122.183.218/wiki/index.php/PeopleFinderTech#How_to_get_involved -Zack
