Cat Stevens is one of my favorite artisst, responsible for such greats
as "The First Cut is the Deepest", "Wild World" and "Father and Son".
When he quit music and showbiz in the late '70's to become a Muslim
it seemed like that was
it, there would be no return. However, many fans were surprised by last
year's release "The Last Prophet" by Yasuf Islam, formally Cat Stevens.
I was tempted to buy it, thought it was an expensive double CD and
I didn't want to take the risk. Has anybody heard it? Or has anybody
got any to say about Cat Stevens at all? Post it! Regards Jon.

My friend John Long's ex wife married Cat Stevens. I performed the
wedding service for John and Susan. I don't know if Susan and Cat Stevens are
still together or not.

Muslims don't approve of divorce, I guess they are still together - I
know he's married with several children in London. Did you ever meet Cat?

Does anyone have any idea who E. Farjeon is? All I know about him is that he wrote the words to "Morning Has Broken", while Cat Stevens wrote the music.
Toward the end of his first career (I know nothing about the recently released CDs) Cat Stevens' songs began to stink. Rubbish like "Two Fine People" and a horrible cover of Sam Cooke's "Another Saturday Night", which probably had Sam rolling in his grave (worse has since been done to him by Michael Bolt-Head). But the early songs, like "Wild World", "Peace Train", "Moonshadow" and "Morning Has Broken" are great!
