Can't, against the rules. For a while, Texas looked like it might blow the spread. They had a temporary meltdown right after the half. Benson had a great rushing game, over 200 yeards and Simms was razor sharp on the passing attack, especially the long passes.

Today's the day, the game of games. Armageddon? The ultimate game? I don't think it will be blowout like two years ago, though Texas is capable of a blowout. If it's close, Oklahoma will probably take it, but if Texas is in rhythm and Cedric can run, it could be a big win for Texas. I don't think Oklahoma is capable of a blowout with Texas defense being so steady this year. This is Texas first real challenge of the year. Today we find out if the Longhorns are for real.

Wonder if George painted himself burnt orange today? Florida State's winning at the half, 17-14. Texas hasn't won a national championship since 1970. If Florida State wins today either Texa sor Oklahoma will wind up number one in the nation on Monday. Simms has never performed well in a big game, and Mack Brown is just 4 and 7 againts top ten teams. So today will be a real test. Game time just over an hour away.

Texas loses! Oklahoma had an aggressive, well thought out game plan. Texas had a plan to keep Chris Simms from getting embarassed by throwing interceptions. They should have turned Chris loose more. And Cedric had a miserable game, they were stacked for him. Oklahoma's running back just romped all over the Horns and turned Texas bad luck on the fumble interception into a recovery and easy waltz into the end zone. Texas game plan was just too tentative and protectionist. It didn't cut it against Oklahoma.

And I was there thanks to a soccer dad. And then I come home and watch A&M dust off Oklahoma. That was the most exciting football Saturday of all time!
