The wife of a well known W Austin doctor bought a baby chimp and pampered
it immensely, but it's a violation of Austin city code to have a pet
chimp. Chimpanzees are classed as the same sort of dangerous animals as
lions and elephants. Chimps can live to the age of 60, but they are often
discard by the time they reach 6 years old. Karen Glass of Sunrise
Exotics, which has a colony of 9 chimps for breeding, sold the baby chimp
to the doctor's wife over over $20k.
