Gnome is the Window system that is becoming popular for Linux and FreeBSD systems. I just installed it on the Spring's backup server and it's an adventure so far. As I type this in a Gnome Netscape 6 six window the screen flickers and flashes and it took about 3 days to get X86 with Gnome working. I had mouse problems and now I'm fighting resolution issues. But I can see the promise.
