What is the future of online community? Can they help us bond together and break down barriers that divide us? Will it be limited to those that can afford computers and web connected cell phones? Will vc's be helpful in raising people from poverty and illiteracy?

OK Now what?

Not sure, but I am doing what I can in Geo conference (as you doubtless know). As for the entire community of Spring...it evolves as new member interact with the old members, bringing new ideas. Getting new and interesting people to join seems to be the crux of the problem. My efforts in this have taken an odd direction but it has brought new blood here just to lurk. I am delighted to see you posting!

I don't know what Geo is. I've been a member here for almost three years btw.

I find the software almost unbearable.

Yapp is the software we love to hate until you manage to come to terms with it. please check http://www.spring.net/yapp-bin/restricted/browse/geo/all/ It was my attempt to tame Yapp
