Are there any fans of the Kinsey Millhone "Alphabet" Mysteries by Sue Grafton? Anyone interested in the cases of Kinsey Millhone, PI out of Santa Barbara? Her old VW (or, after that was totalled in "G Is For Gumshoe", her new old VW)? Her landlord, retired baker and crossword-puzzle writer Henry Pitts? Rosie, the tough Hungarian lady who runs the nondescript restaurant that Kinsey frequents? Jonah Robb, the police detective she has an affair with just about every time his wife leaves him and breaks up with every time she comes back? Her ideas about family and how she reacts on finding she actually has one? And the nail-biting conclusions that almost invariably end with the murderer getting killed (NOTE the "almost"!)?
