Freedom of expression, less racial tension, a great arts community I wish there were a few more palm trees!! ----------------------------------------- back to http://www.capitol-city.com

I like the fact that the city is very clean, and although it is growing really fast, it still has the feeling of a smaller place. If you like music, you can find it in Austin.

How long have you been in Austin, Laura?

The Oasis is a state of mind living within the spirit of each and every local, each and every tree, building river and creek. There is a special light that shines on our city which allows us all to be who ever we are fully and completely! If you dont feel it yet, just hang on, think positive, live to help and love your friends and neighbors and it will come to you as well! Brotherhood is at the soul of the Capitol City!! Hi Terry, I have been in Austin a total of 16 years. I have seen it grow from a relatively small city, to a relatively big, congested city. Still, I don't think I could live in any other city in Texas. Austin is a wondeful place, and I love the fact that the education level of its citizens is among the highest in the USA. :-)

This education level is evidenced in part by the fact that Austinites buy more books per capita thatn anywhere else. We have UT and St Ed's. And all the high tech companies here contribute to this high level of literacy.

Comments anyone?

Not only are the citezens floating on ahigher literal plane. The businesses have followed suit. The television news shows in Austin were the first in the country to actively advertise and promote there web addresses and promote online events. I have tried to keep up with as many online Austin businesses as I can but its incredible how many have embraced technology on an everyday level.
