From the sxsw.com website: The SXSW Web Awards 2002 Winners Announced! Specifically geared for sites that went live in 2001, the SXSW Website Competition discovers the world's most exciting up-and-coming web talent in 20 different categories -- demonstrating that amazing innovation and creativity is still very much alive and well on the web. The winners of each category were revealed at the 2002 SXSW Web Awards show on Sunday evening, March 10 at the glamorous Four Seasons Hotel. If you missed all the action, stay tuned for Quicktime footage of the show! Special thanks to John Halcyon Styn and crew for all the love, the Reverend Kathy Russell for the hypnotic beats, Alan Watts for the tripped-out visuals, and Seabrook Jones and Francis Preve for the "Fantasy Photoshop Tennis." 4 new of

I've been listening to the four hours of audio recorded at Fray Cafe 2 and I wish I could have made it past the doorman for this event, but listening to these is the next best thing. The place was packed and there was a long line of folks waiting to get in, maybe next year they'll do it in a bigger theater or a place that can handle the crowd. http://fray.org/cafe2/ from the website: "Fray Cafe rocked! Fray Cafe 2 was amazing. Four hours of some of the best stories I've ever heard on stage. I'm still buzzing from it. We were so packed that there was a moment when we realized that the fire department would have every right to shut us down. So we wound up turning a few people away. Like fifty. If you were one of them, you have my sincere apologies. But don't fret: The whole event was captured in ones and zeroes. If you'd like to listen in, and you've got RealPlayer, click a tape below or you can listen to the whole shebang from the beginning."
