I have Killed the "Fabulous Market Babe" topic. Any objections should be sent to the usual address :-)
Looks like our favourite little advertiser didn't return, which is a shame. I'm always up for a good haranguing.

not a single one of our resident babes has bragged

In the middle of July? Does that make a difference? In Hawaii we have them year round and in just the right places, or no places at all!

it's just that in these parts, they are usually
very well defined by now...most of the year 'round
ones here are fake and icky...

Not so here. Glorious and golden and uniform, they are Most esthetic. The ladies aren't bad, either! (Fake tans? *shudder*)

hey, my farmer tan looks pretty good but not something i'm willing to share with the rest of the world! besides, don't you know you can get skin cancer from over exposure to the sun? (like that stops anyone!!)

You don't find many locals here basking on the beaches. You catch enough just walking between car and wherever you are going. The sun's rays are so direct here it is hazardous to be uncovered and unprotected, and you do not have to be very old before they start snipping at you. I remain unscathed, fortunately, but it is not due to dumb luck! It is not my aim in life to end up with a face that resembles tree bark!

What we have is white and stiff little strands when purchased. Soak them and they turn clear and about the diameter of angel hair pasta. It is sort of gelatinous-looking and they are very slippery. No taste to them - they take on the flavor of the sauce or broth into which they are put or soaked. They are served just like that. The first time I made them, the writing on the package was all in oriental characters, so I just had to guess. I had those things draped across three dishes trying to figure
ut how to make a serving out of something that would not separate. My Japanese neighbor came over to see what my problem was and about fall down laughing. I learned you cut them into small pieces in the pan in which they were soaked. I use kitchen scissors, now. Does this sound like what you are meaning? I have never seen glass noodles, but if I had to make up a name for these, I would not call them "long rice" - glass noodles would be perfect.

Oooh, Greg, what an idea....! The complete photo banner on the "front page" of this conference is missing and has those nasty little pink and blue boxes (known to the geeks as "where a picture should be" thingies) The logo is part of the banner and it all appears to be missing. Let me check with my limited talent ad Geo's mistress and html programmer (goofs and all).

I checked and I do not have the clearance to change this conference. Only Terry is still active though others with the enablement to correct the problem are around Let me email Terry and ask him to fix it. As close as I can tell, mikeg changed his hard drive files and the banner ones did not come with the side table ladies (wallpaper). Let's see if Terry can put a provocative image of you up with a lady to accompany you. You just hAVE to be a babe! Why not you?! Send image to my email (see link MarciaH - it works!)
Thanks for calling it to my attention. *hugs* (we are friendly in Hawaii)

Yeah that is how we flew to Britain - polar route. It was crystal clear all the way and flew over northern Canada, Greenland and finally Iceland then down over Ireland. It was amazing from 7 miles up to see my first ice bergs and glaciers. I looked and looked for signs of volcanic activity over iceland but saw nothing. It was odd - daylight the entire trip - two days and no night!!!
