ThankYouThankYouThankYou Greg, I see that Kathy has been online. Wife? Daughter? Sister? Mother? Aunt? Sharing your last name surely qualifies her as a babe. Welcome! No need to lurk! Hi Rob, Liam, and anyone else who dares the depths of Spring to lurk here. Say something and you will have company straight away!
~MarciaH Thu, Jun 7, 2001 (01:21) #402
Thank you for the Birthday wishes. I should have realized it when I know Wolfie would not remove all my M's. I feel so foolish and delighted that you did that. You did not forget and neither did I forget you! You have made it memorable! *Very Big Warm HUGS*
~Gregory Fri, Jun 8, 2001 (16:53) #403
Marcia, Kathy happens to be my wife. She hangs in Dool. She's the one who got me started at Babes.
~MarciaH Fri, Jun 8, 2001 (18:25) #404
Fantastic! It is nice to know. I started out in Drool, as well. Ah, a fellow Firthian, perhaps!
~terry Sat, Jun 9, 2001 (14:25) #405
Wow a Drool/Babe relationship!
~MarciaH Sat, Jun 9, 2001 (16:33) #406
How about that! Neat, huh!
~MarciaH Sat, Sep 8, 2001 (22:58) #407

~MarciaH Thu, Oct 4, 2001 (02:06) #409
Lance, How could I forget to post your lei?! Shall I be flogged again? Hey kiddies, I get to lei him at the end of the year when we celebrate his brigh new shiny college degree!!! Hauoli Na Hanau, Walena Ginger / Purple Tips White and purple orchid, intermingled and woven together. Deliciously fragrant.
~AotearoaKiwi Wed, Nov 28, 2001 (06:16) #410
Hi all Given that this topic is for her, Marcia surely would not mind if I promoted Geo would she? It is a lively place with seismologists, geologists, astronomers among others, and, if we ever managed to drag him in, a staff member of the Long Valley Caldera volcano monitoring team. Great place, massive wealth of information both current and past. http://www.spring.net/yapp-bin/public/browse/geo/all Rob
~MarciaH Wed, Nov 28, 2001 (14:16) #411
Thanks, Rob! Imagine finding you here, of all places! I think I may have to deck the halls for you here as well as in Geo. *HUGS* for finding your way here and for posting. I am stunned!!! * BIRTHDAY ALERT * Rob is joining the adult population on December 2nd. Watch out ladies, he is fair game now! Poor Rob. I rather fancied him for myself and for Julie and for several hundred of his closest fans...
~terry Thu, Nov 29, 2001 (11:21) #412
Hey, Rob and I share the same birthday, but I've long since joined the adult popopulation.
~AotearoaKiwi Thu, Nov 29, 2001 (17:17) #413
Hi all I am not fair game for all. Especially when I already got game in my sights but have a bit of waiting to do before I set sight on either. Rob
~MarciaH Thu, Nov 29, 2001 (17:18) #414
Oh Terry, you've only been in the adult ranks long enough to be interesting! Dot is a lucky woman. You're the first man on MY babes list to get married, I think. Well, within the creation of the list. Many men on it are married - of course! They are babes, and as such, they don't hang around unclaimed for long. ~*~ C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ~*~
~MarciaH Thu, Nov 29, 2001 (17:19) #415
As to Rob... *grin* He likes the geologically-volcanologically inclined!
~MarciaH Thu, Nov 29, 2001 (17:20) #416
He has several hanging on his every word....
~MarciaH Thu, Nov 29, 2001 (23:11) #417
William we miss you! You are in a class all by yourself. We miss you! I do particularly... *Sigh*
~wolf Thu, Nov 29, 2001 (23:14) #418
look at all this activity in here! and lance should love that lei, it's beautiful and i could nearly smell it! we've got to post a b-day list somewhere!
~MarciaH Fri, Nov 30, 2001 (00:52) #419
I heard from Lance! He graduates soon. Perhaps I can get him back to talk pearls, but he is going into the diplomatic service, I think. It HAS been a long time since you were last here!
~MarciaH Fri, Nov 30, 2001 (00:56) #420
Lance has not been anywhere in Spring since last year. *Sigh* Oh well, he is very busy! Welcome back, Wolfie. *HUGS*
~wolf Fri, Nov 30, 2001 (20:11) #421
*hugs* back atcha!
~MarciaH Fri, Nov 30, 2001 (20:22) #422
Now, if only some of the lurking gentlemen would come for their hugs, life would be a lot sweeter. *Sigh* I'm still waiting. *Hugs* Wolfie. It has been a difficult year.
~wolf Fri, Nov 30, 2001 (20:30) #423
indeed! *HUGS* to our lurkers as well!
~Gregory Sat, Dec 1, 2001 (11:46) #424
Hugs to you also Marica. It's been awhile I haven't look for Faith Hill Pic's lately, so I haven't written to you for help or anything. I've just been lurking as you would call it. If I don't get the chance have a Happy Holiday Season.
~MarciaH Sat, Dec 1, 2001 (13:49) #425
Thanks, Greg! Season's Greetings to you, also and Big Holiday Hugs. Cheer is best shared! I am hoping our lovely Faith Hill will have a special of some sort soon, but I guess motherhood is the most special of them all, and I will try to be patient. Lurk away, Dear... you have plenty of company!
~sociolingo Fri, Dec 7, 2001 (15:07) #426
Hi Marcia ...
~aa9il Fri, Dec 7, 2001 (16:03) #427
and howdy from me too 73 de Mike r-c-i
~MarciaH Fri, Dec 7, 2001 (17:08) #428
Hi Guys!!! Maggie! Which continent are you on? I thought you had disappeared into the dark recesses of Reading. I've not heard from the denizens there for a long time! Mike! Wow! You do wander far afield. Yes, I know - how did I get here? I just woke up one morning and here I was. Hugs both, and thanks for dropping by!
~sociolingo Sat, Dec 8, 2001 (10:49) #429
Been in lodgings for five weeks .. no access to internet. Now in new apartment in Reading .. so look for me online! hugs Maggie
~wolf Sat, Dec 8, 2001 (17:15) #430
are you in africa maggie?
~sociolingo Sun, Dec 9, 2001 (15:42) #431
No wolfie ..I wish I were. I am still in the UK. My life has been very complicated lately. Would value your prayers. My eldest daughter got married in september and they have bought our house. Because of sale problems in the chain of the apartment we were buying we ended up homeless. Someone from church took us in. We have just moved into our apartment which is near the university in Reading. I'm still trying to finish my thesis ..then we're off to Switzerland for French study and then, hopefully back to Mali in africa long term. That's a short version!
~MarciaH Sun, Dec 9, 2001 (17:11) #432
Wow!!! *HUGS* Maggie. My stuck-in-status-quo life is thankfully much less full of uncertainties than yours. I know you do not flourish in such circumstances, as I also do not. Prayers are assuredly comming for your well-being. Any other weddings in the offing?
~sociolingo Mon, Dec 10, 2001 (07:20) #433
Yup, Hannah plans to marry when she qualifies as an accountant. She has her first professional exam this week.
~wolf Tue, Dec 11, 2001 (16:07) #434
i'm glad to know that things did work out despite some hard times. your prayer request has been heard! *HUGS*
~MarciaH Tue, Dec 11, 2001 (16:16) #435
Absolutely marvelous news!! No "Old Maids" in your family, Maggie (What an offensive and antiquated notion!) Now to get YOUR life back on track...
~MarciaH Tue, Dec 11, 2001 (17:04) #436
*GRIN* I have a Christmas surprise planned for Geo. I thought of it last night and have a sticky note to remind me. I ran the idea past the house creature, and it passed with flying colors. Now, how many days before Christmas should I intall it??? Hmmmmmmmmm. *pondering*
~sociolingo Tue, Dec 11, 2001 (19:19) #437
Thanks Sweeties ...yes Prayers do work .. I just tend to be somewhat impatient!!!! Actually the time in odgings was really good and we've adopted another member to our family. ...We're going back there in January to dog sit for a few weeks!
~MarciaH Tue, Dec 11, 2001 (20:31) #438
Wow!! Or should I say Bow Wow?! Not a huge dog, I hope. The dogs of Britain are the best-mannered in the world, as far as I know, and far better trained than a lot of children I could mention. I know you will lose your heart, again!
~sociolingo Wed, Dec 12, 2001 (04:50) #439
Grin ..No Lara is a rather elderly cross-bred. That's why we'll stay nights at Bridgets and work at home. She's too old to go into kennels. Lara is so well trained you can take her for walks without a lead. She's Bridgets constant companion so needs special care. We're both very fond of her. HOWEVER, during our stay at Bridgets we did have an ENORMOUS pyrenean mountain dog/saint Bernard cross called a Leonbergher. His name was Boy and he was a big cuddly teddy bear. bridget boards dogs (among other things) and I found I was surprisingly good with them. I think we had about 7 during our stay. We may have some of the boarders to stay whilst we look after Lara! But not the BIG one.
~wolf Wed, Dec 12, 2001 (20:48) #440
oh marcia, i can't wait! maggie, i couldn't possibly be a foster parent for dogs--i would keep every last one of them!
~sociolingo Thu, Dec 13, 2001 (10:24) #441
Well these dogs all have very loving homes, they just need somewhere to stay for odd days or weeks whilst their owners are away. Staying as paying guests in a home where they are loved and cared for is a better option than going to boarding kennels. I am just so amazed at how well I managed so many different dogs. I think the most we had was five at one time.
~MarciaH Thu, Dec 13, 2001 (15:10) #442
Five?! I AM impressed. All I can picture is Maggie being dragged down the mais street of town being pulled by 5 eager dogs - rather like huskies pulling an Eskimo sled. What a thought! Sounds lovely, actually. I know you will like having their company!
~sociolingo Thu, Dec 13, 2001 (15:46) #443
Giggle ...there is only ONE house dog ... Lara ..the others are paying guests. Actually Tony and I can manage three or four between us depending on the personality of the dogs involved. There is NO high street .. this is in the midst of the country! There should only be Lara when we go and dog sit. HUGS Maggie
~MarciaH Thu, Dec 13, 2001 (16:47) #444
Woooooo!!! Now I see you running across fields of wildflowers with the ribbons in your hair trailing behind. One is good. Two humans is better. Woooof!!!
~sociolingo Thu, Dec 13, 2001 (19:16) #445
he he ...wish I could talk to you on yahoo though .. or AOL (sociolingouk)
~MarciaH Thu, Dec 27, 2001 (18:40) #446

~MarciaH Thu, Dec 27, 2001 (18:41) #447

~sociolingo Fri, Dec 28, 2001 (13:53) #448
Hi Marcia ...have you had my emails ... nothing from you for ages ....still big sister?
~AotearoaKiwi Sat, Jan 5, 2002 (05:40) #449
Hi all How was New Year for my lovely Hawaiian friend?? I went to the beautiful Molesworth Station as you know and had a couple cans of Canterbury Draught (the best of the not very many beers I have tasted), while Mum and Dad had a bottle of red wine, to see out 2001 and see in 2002. Absolutely GLORIOUS weather with not a hint of the heavy rains, thunderstorms and landslips that set in a couple days later. Marcia, can you please e-mail me because I am a bit concerned about your invisibility on Messenger. Just so I know you are safe and well. I am fine, the weather is not - (Thursday December 27) thunderstorms, (Friday December 28) thunderstorms with isolated hail, (Saturday December 29) thunderstorms, torrential rain, (Wednesday January 2) thunderstorms with sheet lightning, (Friday January 4) thunderstorm, (Saturday January 5) thunderstorm with VERY heavy rain and some hail. To see my epic story telling effort and Marcia's kind efforts to provide links go to GEO conference "Floods and other Hydro Hazards" - THANK MARCIA!!! Rob
~MarciaH Wed, Jan 9, 2002 (00:21) #450
Hugs Rob!!! Wheeeee! New Year was quiet except for the neighbors entertaining us with illegal skyrockets. I said OOOOH and AHHHH just as I am supposed to do. Lovely display and no fires set. I also did not see the ambulance arrive, so it was innocent fun with just a touch of air pollution. Thank you for asking. Anything fireworks in Christchurch, my most esteemed and delighful Kiwiland geologist? Do you think your beer consumption and the drastic rise of water have any connection? (I tried adding you again to my list. I think you are entered incorrectly since I downloaded the upgrade from Yahoo. I'll email you immediately! I'm just sorry I did not see this sooner!) *Hugs again*!!!
~MarciaH Wed, Jan 9, 2002 (00:24) #451
Success, My Dearest Rob... I just found your login on an old message and reposted it. I think I will not disappear again. I miss talking to you and imagining your being upside down sticking down off the globe. I guess that means I am sticking out sideways...
~wolf Wed, Jan 9, 2002 (19:32) #452
*giggle*
~MarciaH Wed, Jan 9, 2002 (19:49) #453
I was laughing as I wrote that. I guess only Santa Claus stands up atraight or some Aleut living 22-24 from true north... or is that from Magnetic north?!
~wolf Wed, Jan 9, 2002 (19:52) #454
i dunno....i've wondered if they know they're upside down! *laugh*
~AotearoaKiwi Mon, Jan 14, 2002 (02:38) #455
Hi all Marcia (Message 110): I table dance in Hawaiian attire by appointment only. Rob (reaching for the phone to dial Air New Zealand bookings): WOW!!! Now THERE is something I want to see. Not heard of much of late that would be that entertaining. Let's see *musing*, Lord of the Rings is a great yarn by J.R.R Tolkien produced as a film for the big screen by New Zealand film maestro Peter Jackson, and gets a rating of 9/10. Cate Blanchett's performance was not as great as expected, though otherwise the movie was superbly done and contrary to the critics who loathe the violence and say it is unsuitable for children, the movie actually makes a great fantasy. Now, Marcia. May I make an appointment to see my gracious Hawaiian friend table dancing?? Rob
~AotearoaKiwi Tue, Feb 5, 2002 (20:00) #456
Hi all The lack of a reply suggests I should not have mentioned it. *Bows head and pleads forgiveness from the Great One* Rob
~wolf Tue, Feb 5, 2002 (20:14) #457
huh? what'd i miss?
~wolf Tue, Feb 5, 2002 (20:15) #458
ooooooooohhhhhhhhh!
~MarciaH Tue, Feb 5, 2002 (20:22) #459
ROB!!! I just discovered your post! Definitly not a negative for you. I am very select and private when it comes to dancing on my tables =) Y'all come!
~MarciaH Tue, Feb 5, 2002 (20:23) #460
(Do you think the blood rushed to their head living upside down like that all the time? Or are they like the Nile catfish that swims that way on purpose? *Sigh* so much to learn!
~MarciaH Tue, Feb 5, 2002 (20:24) #461
Rob, what are you doing reading way back to post 110. It'll surely rot your sensitivities and I'll catch it from all sides.
~MarciaH Tue, Feb 5, 2002 (20:30) #462
*sigh* all of the wrong stuff disappears, huh! Talk about my past coming back to haunt me!!
~MarciaH Thu, Feb 7, 2002 (21:32) #463
About the table dance... there is only one person who has pride of place at the front of the line. The table is polished to a mirror-shine. Your dancer awaits!
~MarciaH Wed, Feb 13, 2002 (19:55) #464
For the man who believed in me enough to create this space and turn me loose on it to do as I would, this is for you: (I hope he sees it)
~Gregory Wed, Feb 13, 2002 (20:04) #465
I would think he will. Happy Valentines Day To You Marcia!
~MarciaH Thu, Feb 14, 2002 (15:33) #466
Same to you, Greg! Thanks! (I think he did, also!)
~SBRobinson Thu, Feb 14, 2002 (17:05) #467

~MarciaH Thu, Feb 14, 2002 (20:11) #470
Oooh, did that guy call back? The one who couldn't live without you? Or is this a more worthy suitor? You gotta check with me, remember! *HUGS*
~AotearoaKiwi Tue, Feb 19, 2002 (02:24) #471
Hi all Bit late, but to all who did not receive something in their e-mail, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! Rob
~MarciaH Tue, Feb 19, 2002 (12:33) #472
Thanks Rob! See you at Cricket later today. (For me Valentine sentiments go on 24/7/365 so be prepared!)
~MarciaH Tue, Mar 12, 2002 (15:41) #473
Happy Birthday Hugs, John
~MarciaH Tue, Mar 12, 2002 (15:45) #474
Oddly enough, John has never been here and I think he does not know it exists. Should I tell him? Or, shall I let him think I am a proper lady? *sigh*
~AotearoaKiwi Fri, Apr 12, 2002 (05:39) #475
Hi all How is O Gracious one today? Rob
~AotearoaKiwi Wed, Apr 17, 2002 (02:49) #476
Hi all If you don't invite John, then I will.... You know you want to *GRINS*.
~MarciaH Thu, Apr 25, 2002 (15:59) #477
Oh Rob..... you have found me out. Yes, I do, but John thinks I am a lady andI would hate to disillusion him in any way. Heheh... See topic concerning my top 5 male Babes (give or take a few)
~lance8 Sun, May 12, 2002 (23:56) #478
My, my. It has been a while since I've been here. How's my favorite babe doing?
~MarciaH Mon, May 13, 2002 (00:02) #479
Lance, Luv - Wow !!! Welcome back. I have missed you more than you can imagine! Congratulations on your college degree. Come here and let me give you a big *hug* of aloha. Next week I can do it for real! He graduates and I get to have all the fun*;)
~lance8 Mon, May 13, 2002 (00:19) #480
Well, There you are! Babe o' me heart, can you please answer a question for me? What happened to topic 18 on Geo? It seems to have disappeared from the list.
~MarciaH Mon, May 13, 2002 (00:42) #481
You found it. How much we have missed you, Dearest Lance. My heart is restored to beating in 3/4 time. *Hugs*
~MarciaH Mon, May 20, 2002 (00:09) #482
Thanks, Lnace, for a day and night I will never forget. I'm just sorry it was not a lifetime in length.
~AotearoaKiwi Tue, May 21, 2002 (06:32) #483
Hi all Lance, I got a job for you. Help me make sure that the lovely hostess of Geo stays safe and sound in her patch. Marcia must be the luckiest woman on earth, with three men (John is the other) from all corners of the globe keeping a watchful eye on what goes on in Kapaka Street, Hilo. Not many women can boast three men watching out for her, and hopefully all being able to get on with each other. Marcia has done well but then again with charm and grace to put a dolphin to shame, how can she not??? Rob
~AotearoaKiwi Tue, May 21, 2002 (06:39) #484
Hi all Don't worry about me Lance. I got my hands full in California with a fellow volcanophile, rockaholic and yes... Julie Gilbert. Rob
~wolf Tue, May 21, 2002 (18:09) #485
*giggle*
~MarciaH Thu, May 23, 2002 (00:04) #486
Oh my Dear!!! I am really not that difficult to keep track of but do appreciate the concern. Thanks Rob. You're such a dear! (John never comes here I think.) Lance is as good as they get. A true friend who still loves me after good and bad times.
~MarciaH Thu, May 23, 2002 (02:09) #487
Well, enough of flattery. Lance is gone (but still in Hilo) and Rob is off pursuing the rockclimber in California. I guess that relegates me to being a gracious but lonely hostess. *sigh* John, if you see this, my warmest very special hugs for your resounding success yesterday with the Earthquake Prediction. All of Greece salutes him. He was fired upon by the "real" seismologists and proved better than they. He was on television, radio and in many news sources. My sorrow is that I can neither see nor read them (nor hear them either.) I saw a website "Learn Greek in 25 years." Fantastic! I might learn it in 25 years if I had that long to learn it. Alas I am monolingual and if it is not in English I am lost. Again Congratulations to John.
~AotearoaKiwi Thu, May 23, 2002 (03:38) #488
Hi all Never lonely dear. Julie and I are nearby, despite the mass of water between us and you and you are in our hearts and living there. Honey, how can you possibly be lonely?? I have a four point plan for when you come to Christchurch. I have this idea of having my drivers license by then and driving you down the West Coast, to see the glaciers. I have resolved to get my learners this summer and my full license in the following summer, while using the gap inbetween to gain experience. Rob
~autumn Thu, May 23, 2002 (21:13) #489
Which side of the road do you drive on in NZ, Rob? (I'm afraid I already know the answer...)
~AotearoaKiwi Fri, May 24, 2002 (03:59) #490
Hi all Left side of the road like the British, Australians and Japanese. Speed limit is 100kph on motorways (and speeding tickets are imposed if you go past 110kph), 50 or 60kmh in cities depending on the road and where you are. Around schools the speed limit is 40kph. 31mph is about 50kph. 63mph is just over 100kmh (about 101kph). DON'T drink and then drive, and obviously co-operate with the police if you get pulled over. You will get fined $75 if YOU are found without a seatbelt on. I think the driver of a car with someone under 5 takes the rap. Rob
~MarciaH Sun, May 26, 2002 (00:00) #491
Rob, you are such a dear and I do feel your warmth and comfort wiht Julie's and John's. And, of course, Lance's. How could I ever have imagined being lonely! I am rich beyond compare by this measure! Autumn, happy motoring. Been there and did that in the UK. Take along a handy converter!
~MarciaH Sun, May 26, 2002 (00:02) #492
In the US the driver takes the rap for ANYONE in a moving car who is not in some safety restraint approved by the powers that be.
~MarciaH Sun, May 26, 2002 (00:07) #493
I think all of GEO is a happily supportive family in whose presence no one will ever be lonely! We are very lucky. In that, I am truly blessed. We even have our very own Maharaja about whose safety I worry a great deal.
~AotearoaKiwi Wed, May 29, 2002 (07:21) #494
Hi all It is a very good family and one you can trust. Marcia can run to us when she wants contact with overseas. Whats that song where there is the line: WE ARE FAMILY Rob
~MarciaH Thu, May 30, 2002 (00:22) #495
YUP we are. It took some tugging to get you here, but has it ever been worth it. You have found a home all over Spring now. I am delighted. Beats the heck out of the rest of the Internet that I have been able to discern. *;) Hugs, Rob. I know you miss Julie. So do I.
~AotearoaKiwi Fri, May 31, 2002 (03:24) #496
Hi all Julie is off taking a well earned break from the hard slog of school and I am happy that she is doing something she loves. While I am missing her I am happy in the knowledge that she is doing something close to her heart. Rob
