Just want to introduce myself. I bought an '87 Es (109Hp) last year. I took it apart , gave it a new Paint-job and the usual stuff. Looks good now .
( Also painted the bumpers) . Does anyone know if there are Spoilers for the
480 ?
I still go to school but in my spare-time i do some projects ...
I also have an Rabbit Gti and a Corrado G60 ... ( but still nothing better then a 480 ... unless ofcourse a Delorean...! )

Hi Jens,
Sorry, I haven''t got your e-mail yet - it might have got stuck
somewhere in the system.
Got any usefull info on uprating the suspension at at all in that
e-mail? I think the 480 is a bit soft compared to say a Golf Gti (Dare
I mention that name here!!) Have you or any of other 480 drivers beefed
them up a bit - and how?
Also, does anyone have any clever places to put a CD-autochanger
without chewing up trim?
Message for Delorean (Netherlands) - I do remember seeing an ad
for a sports exhaust for the 480 in Max Power a while ago. Do you get
this mag in the Netherlands? I'm suprised you cannot get things like that
there considering the 480 was made there.

O.K.
I'm a car fanatic who got converted to bike fever.
I have no car. I have never had a car, and my personal distrust of lending institutions in Jamaica means I probably will never own a car.
The car of my dreams is a Mazda MX-5 (Miata). THe car of my more practical dreams is a Suzuki Super Carry (van).

I found you on Xroad bike forum. I reed there that Sam was speaking to himself. So I'll try to help him taking out of is solitude.
I live in Quebec, had lot of car (all american except a Vauxal Viva (England engeniring)). I had V8, 6 in line, 4cyl. and now a V6 longitudinal(traction).
Every time I bought a car, my first consideration was $$$. Then I let my heart go. I'm not a fine connaisseur but I love machanic in general. I'm always been a F-1 fan.

I just checked to find out who the new F-1 champion was.
Yves, I am sure you are pleased to know that Jacques Villeneuve is the 1997 Formula One World Driver's Champion.
I'm sorry that Ferrari didn't get it but I'm glad that Schumacher didn't!

I was up at 6 1/2 this morning to see that race that was fabulous and hard for our nerves. We are very proud of Gilles's son. But for an old guy like me, he'll never have the Charism of is father nether his fieriness, temerity. But a son is never his father.(Good thing for my son (o:)

Ziggy Marley, the son of The Honourable Robert Nesta (Bob) Marley, O.M., is nowhere near as talented as his father, who was mostly responsible for the international popularity of Reggae music.
It's about fathers & sons: Gilles & Jacques Villeneuve, Graham & Damon Hill, Bob & Ziggy Marley...

These folks come to Austin a lot, Ya, know, mon, me and Cassie
came in second in the Liberty Lunch reggae dancing contest.
I have to admit that Cassie carried most of the load, she was a
spectacular dancer. This was some years ago, but the roar of the
applause made my night that night.

Have I ever driven a Jag? Oh yes. Helped restore and drive an XK120, 150, and restored 2 E Types myself. Started on an XJ12 and gave it up. The E's were my college project/babe magnets/wallet killers. IMHO the best all round sportscar ride there is (and I love Lotus Sevens & Europas). Pardon me, but a man's car!

Hi. I met terry at jim obriens xmas potluck... am looking for a great used 5 spd car. I tend to trust imports over american cars... need a reliable one that can comfortably seat 3 kids in the back. A camry or mazda 626 is the right size but a manual camry is hard to find and i don't know much about mazdas. Anybody have a recommendation? Thanks!

Hey thanks for the feedback. The classifieds have lots of camrys for all prices - just very few 5 spds. Yeah Hondas are fun cruisemobiles but the 2 I've had both seemed to like breaking down on I-35 at rush hour. Thats why I was wondering about mazdas - could any car be as reliable as a toyota? Hmm, Integra? I'll have to check one out.

Finally traded in my '90 Dodge Spirit (w/ 116,500+ miles) last night. I cried leaving it in the lot but was glad to be leaving the mechanical failures behind.
Bought a '92 Legacy w/ 90K on it. 5D, AWD, but WHITE... EEEWWW, yuck. Actually, I really like it (having owned it for just 12 hours now!)

Hi
It has taken me a very long time to find this forum!!!
I have a 480es (1989) and it is the best car I have ever had.
There is one problem - the alarm will not switch off.
I have had to remove the fuse so now I don,t have the horn or the long-distance beams.
Can anyone give me some advice? The fault is in one of the doors or in the hood or boot.
Can I disable the alarm?
Hiow can I find the fault?

Hi Terry
This site is great and I will explore it much more.
People here should know a great deal about the the 480 so telling you more about my car is very hard - it is red, 98000 miles on the clock and in my opinion, fantastic. If you know of any more sites like this please let me know.

I was wandering if anybody was willing to give me some info on how to get non standard parts for the volvo 480 in the UK.
I have just bought a 1990 black 480 ES with 84,000 miles on the clock which is in really good nick and am very happy with my purchase, she's gorgeous.
Anyway i want to make her look that little bit more special, does anybody know of any companies that sell non standard parts?
I have fitted the sound system already and it is sounding sweet, 150W component speakers on a sony 4x80W explod amp. The quality is really good, I'm not bothered about the bass (i don't think everybody should have to listen to what I'm playing on my stereo, unlike others).
It would be a great help if anybody knows of such companies, hopefully hear from you soon,
