I feel like Luke Skywalker being seduced to the Dark Side. I have long led tirades against two-ton two-seat cars and against Galaxie Sunliner-style retractable hardtops. Now here comes the Chevrolet SSR, a two-ton, two seat pickup truck with a retractable hardtop and an integrated tonneau cover to make it look like a car. And every logical argument says I should hate it. And all the logic in the world is failing because I WANT ONE! Well, I can't afford one; at least that will save me... 2 new of

Sort of. It's a retro convertible p/up truck. Sounds like an exceedingly odd concept but it looks fantastic! If they had a panel van version I would completely forget the PT Cruiser, 'coz a panel van version of the SSR would be what the PT Cruiser should have been!
