Do you collect American Girl Dolls and other items? Talk about them here!

Laura introduced the topic of porcelain dolls to the collecting conference and the American Girl series. here's her post: I know that I always wanted to collect Porcelain Dolls when I was younger, but mom couldn't afford them. So now I get to live my dream through my daughter. Who has a couple of absolutely gorgeous porcelain dolls. She also has the Josephina: American Girl Doll and would like the Samantha doll. These dolls are very well made and have a doll hospital. The children also learn about the time period that these girls are from (Josephina is from Mexico (now New Mexico) and 1824). Does anyone else collect dolls like this?

Could someone describe what these dolls are like? The name is not familiar to me. I guess I do not collect so I do not know, but I'd like to...

Here is a picture of Josephina, the doll that my daughter Rebecca has They are beautiful dolls, a bit on the pricey side.

Beck's only has Josephina and the Baby doll. (Xmas gifts both) The starter set for the dolls is a whopping $300. Now you can purchase a doll with a book for $98. Like I said they are pricey. She pretty much destroyed Josephina and if I get her another one, I told her she has to take good care of it.
