Address your critiques to
terry, stacey, or wer...

or you may address your praise to Stacey (for any number of tangental items) and your 'critique' (obvious 'criticism euphemism') to Paul and WER!
*smile*
just kidding. I can take it!

Yes, it does.
Gals do good things, and guys do . . . well, guy-things.

It defies thinking! If you could see how swollen my hands are from all the applauding, you'd grow and ego bigger than that of Bill Clinton!

on the main conf page, the code is intentional...
especially since most of it is wrong...
but, it will probably go when I sign the conf up for
the Generation X List Web Ring...

This whole place has undergone a metamorphasis since last week! Are you the one responsible for the new search engine options, wer?? By the way, the customized hotlist page is a nice touch!

Do you find it therapeutic doing these things, Wer? I mean, the stuff you do here is so creative - does it help with your depression too?

Terry(?) did the search page, I put in the choice on the main page...
probably so, Riette, thus the criticism topics and all the questions
in porch, if I do something everyone likes it gives me a sense of
acceptance, I suppose...
not being very artistic myself, I seem to have a knack for
layout and design, and enjoy doing it (whatever the current
motivation for it may be)...

Having a knack for layout and design IS artistic, silly! And the motivation is the fact that doing something you do well is satisfying, is it not? I know what you mean by that sense of acceptance thing though; only I've never been able to admit that to myself as freely as you do. In fact, I've NEVER done that, but your saying it helped me understand something I've been struggling with too. I've realized that that 'wanting to be accepted' in at least that one area of life has become a bit of a nasty c
rcle with me. I get unbelievably depressed every time I finish a painting. The reason: I feel I HAVE to produce something better, something MORE striking, MORE over the top next time. At first I thought it was healthy ambission - but ambission is not suppose to depress one. So it must be that acceptance thing. The plain fact is that I'm $hit scared somebody will DISLIKE one of my paintings - which is, of course, BOUND to happen at some point. God, why must we be such silly buggers, hey??

golly, riette and wer, you two sound like me, maybe we're all related (triplets,
then, i suppose). everytime i write a new poem and post it, i'm always afraid
that someone will find it utterly silly. but why should we let other people's
opinions mean so much when the stuff we do (whether it be graphic layouts, paintings,
or poetry) is wholly personal and meaningful to us? if i touch somebody with
a poem, that is all i need. i love the layouts you've done, wer and how you've
incorporated one of riette's works into the main page. it brings interest
instead of just all those words (which can be overwhelming). i know i hate
bringing up a website and all i see are lots and lots of tiny words on the main
page of the site. maybe we can break down the front page of the spring somehow
without overdoing it?
