Drugs. Yep. Drugs.
~autumn Tue, Mar 3, 1998 (15:20) #1
Tried 'em all (except the intravenous ones). The only ones I still indulge in from time to time are tobacco and alcohol (and we didn't even consider those drugs in the 80s!) The only one I ever really think about is psilicybin mushrooms, but I'd never act on it now because I am a Good Example.

exactly, that's why you gotta show 'em the right way to take them...
~stacey Tue, Mar 3, 1998 (18:56) #3
unfortunately as a teacher, I have been bitten by the 'good example' bug as well. Self-imposed but strong nonetheless.

There is a war, on, uh, some drugs.
~autumn Thu, Mar 5, 1998 (03:15) #5
Yeah, I'm a Law Abiding Citizen now in addition to being a Good Example.
~KitchenManager Thu, Mar 5, 1998 (13:09) #6
I'm sorry...

my first experience with drugs was aged (i think) seventeen (yup, i'm sure now), when a friend and I decided to go and get stoned. it was comically funny, since neither of us knew how to skin up. total abortion - it didn't happen. then, once he'd learned how (I never did...), we sat down and did it...it was fun. i remember one time doing about two or three *big* joints in a row, and being absolutely and totally stuffed afterwards...i wandered around like a zombie. i thought it was pretty funny at the time! then i started to get bored of it, and i saw how it was really wasting some of the people i was with. so i stopped. haven't smoked any since, except passively. i'm not a big fan...can't be good for you.

Some of my "burnout" friends have really turned out strangely, Mike, you're smart to go the passive route!

there is certainly a limit to what a body can take before substances begin altering the mind on a permanent basis, but i believe every adult should be free to do what he/she pleases with the one body he/she has been given. (he/she... i made the population sound hermaphroditic !)
~KitchenManager Wed, Apr 8, 1998 (12:52) #12
That could be fun...
~autumn Wed, Apr 8, 1998 (15:03) #13
There's probably a drug for it!
~KitchenManager Wed, Apr 8, 1998 (23:49) #14
Can you smoke it? (and, if so, what are the negative side effects?)
~stacey Thu, Apr 9, 1998 (09:51) #15
lung cancer.
~autumn Fri, Apr 10, 1998 (14:03) #16
bite your tongue...
~stacey Mon, Apr 13, 1998 (09:51) #17
sorry.
~KitchenManager Tue, Apr 14, 1998 (01:16) #18
(damn! I was hoping that I could bite it for you...)
~Wolf Wed, Apr 15, 1998 (20:14) #19

~KitchenManager Wed, Apr 15, 1998 (23:21) #20

~Wolf Wed, Apr 15, 1998 (23:22) #21

~KitchenManager Thu, Apr 16, 1998 (12:19) #24

~stacey Thu, Apr 16, 1998 (16:23) #25

~KitchenManager Thu, Apr 16, 1998 (16:40) #26
Didn't say there wasn't any, just not enough...
~stacey Fri, Apr 17, 1998 (10:19) #27
*laugh* okay, okay, I'll listen more carefully next time!
~riette Mon, Jul 20, 1998 (16:21) #28
Where I grew up there were no drugs. But when I was twelve, I asked the boys on the farm to teach me how to smoke, because I thought it was cool. What I didn't know was that 'smoking' to them, was a piece of paper in which you rolled a mixture of tobacco and cow crap. So they rolled me one, and I took a LONG suck at it. It was the most disgusting experience of my entire life. I was sick for three days (the memory of that taste LITERALLY made me sick), and I've never touched a thing since, I never ever ever ever want to smoke again either. As far as alcohol is concerned, hell, who hasn't ever got drunk? It's fun, but I HATE the hangover afterwards, so I only do it when I'm feeling really courageous.
~mikeg Mon, Jul 20, 1998 (18:03) #29
I must be getting old as I'm starting to get hangovers :-)
~autumn Mon, Jul 20, 1998 (23:59) #30
What is the drinking age where you two live?
~mikeg Tue, Jul 21, 1998 (05:08) #31
18
~riette Tue, Jul 21, 1998 (06:17) #32
Probalby same here, but I often see much younger kids stoned on the streets at night. I find it rather sad. Mike, so you think I'm old, huh? I've always had hangovers, even when I don't get drunk, but just a bit tipsy.
~riette Tue, Jul 21, 1998 (06:17) #33
Damn! Probably.
