Nerds need mates

Nerds need girls. They slave away at high tech companies and never have time for a social life. What's a techie guy to do about finding a mate? Do they wait till they're 42 and cash in their stock options or can they do something now? Nerds shouldn't have to wait 6 months between dates because they work long hours and don't have a life outside the all consuming company.

People are precious. Nerds need a life outside of their companies. How can they find someone?

There are many female nerds too and I think they have a more difficult time. I find techie geeks, engineer nerds attractive. I like the intellectual stimulation and the intensity at which they work. Often it mean they will be just as intense in other areas.

I didn't mean to leave out female nerds also! Of course. I may have mentioned this somewhere, but there was a Nightline special on the new lifestyles of geeks in Silicon Valley last night, and one of the techie guys whose pockets are stuffed with stock options said, "I haven't had a date in 6 months, but maybe someone will marry me when I'm rich and 42 years old." (he was probably 41 years old). Basically, a lot of guys are dedicating their lives to their companies, their missions, and their ideals and getting richly rewarded with stocks with the companies go public. So they miss out on their social life. Of course, not always the case, but it happens a lot. They did point out that the companies are trying to make life more tolerable, even enjoyable, since the company *is* life for their employees. Since Bill Gates got married, I hear Microsoft no longer discourages married employees and they have more of a "family" atmosphere. And it's not uncommon to find folks getting massages and onsite dental and medial care and to see workout areas.

Why should the 'geeks' get special treatment. What about all the married guys who come home and get hen-pecked. Hell... They'd probably rather be a 'geek'.

~terry Tue, Dec 9, 1997 (22:45) #10
Are you saying you wore no panties today for real?
~KitchenManager Tue, Dec 9, 1997 (23:34) #11
That's what she said, seems some days they are too restrictive. Makes me wish that I had worked with her before. *wink*
~terry Sat, Dec 13, 1997 (19:47) #12
Yeah, I thought that's what she said.
~stacey Mon, Dec 15, 1997 (19:10) #13

I do know all the best spots where I'm currently employed... Want the after hours tour?
~stacey Thu, Dec 18, 1997 (18:36) #17
Can I take the self-tour? You can just lie back, close your eyes and tell me if I've found all the good places!
~KitchenManager Fri, Dec 19, 1997 (00:43) #18
Could very well be the best offer I've had all year... I would be honored, but I will feel obliged to return the favor...
~stacey Fri, Dec 19, 1997 (10:16) #19
Reciprocation is never a problem.
~KitchenManager Fri, Dec 19, 1997 (10:31) #20
Something wrong, Stacey? Odd tone in that last response, or maybe I still too asleep.
~stacey Fri, Dec 19, 1997 (14:26) #21
You were still asleep or at least there are no bad vibes coming from me! Maybe suggestive, slightly dirty ones...
~KitchenManager Fri, Dec 19, 1997 (15:10) #22
Paying attention now! More please...
~stacey Fri, Dec 19, 1997 (18:42) #23
*clicking tongue noises* you've been a bad, bad boy... c'mere and I'll show you the consequences. Lie still. Don't move. No! You can't touch that. Only I get to play! You've been bad. *assorted attentions to nooks and crannies* Are you feeling sorry now. No? I guess I'll have to really teach you a lesson now. *grin* Close your eyes.
~KitchenManager Fri, Dec 19, 1997 (18:44) #24
