Wow, major shakeup's in all types of motorcycle racing for 1998. John boy K, is going back to the GP's on a Honda, Collin Edwards is taking his place on the Castrol RC45 Honda for WSC. Anthoy Golbert is racing for AMA on the FF-Ducati, Pascal Piccotte went to H-D (must have been for buckets of money!!), Troy Courser is back on a WSC Ducati and My uncle, (Merlin Plumlee) has a new rider for the old Smokin Joe's team in Ben Bostrom, a young gun and a dirt tracker, that will make Merlin a happy camper. Has a yone heard if Russel is staying with Yamaha? Steve Crevia, is racing the new TL1000R twin for Suzuki in AMA, long time rider Jamie James is riding again, and I think it's for another VR1000 group, Harley has some good one's for 98. Tom Kip, long time Yamaha rider is now on a Duc for 98 so it's gona take a while to figure it all out! Sure wish I could get SpeedVision darn it. Hey AMA, has a new class, includes triples, twins and singles this year, forget what it's called but it should be a lot more fun than "just 883's" Can't wait for it to start. Tailwinds, BJ

Yeah, but you didn't mention why Anthony Gobert is moving. Drugs. I can't understand anyone being that stupid. You've got an awesome, high paying, fun job racing motorcycles where you KNOW they're going to test you, and you still do it. What? Flying around the track at 180 isn't a rush enough? Steve Crevier's move to a TL will be good for him--he's a good racer he just didn't know how to handle the horsepower monster Honda. Any news on whether or not Honda is going to race a VTR, and if so when? I think Miguel Duhamel could do really awesome if he had a bike with better power characteristics. But maybe he *likes* a bike that's about that close to tearing the rear wheel free at any moment.

I heard something about Erion Racing was going to use a VTR but don't think whatever the Honda main teams name is this year there gona use one. On Anthony G. there is still some doubt to weither he's gulity or not according to the things I have read. Sure wish the race at PPIR wasn't so long away, in Sept. this year. Hey, I saw that Forumla-USA racing was coming to PPIR around the middle of May, will keep you posted as to when the tickets are avaiable. Tailwinds, BJ

He had "come close" to failing the drug tests "several" times this season then finally out right failed one (according to Sport Rider). I don't know how you "come close", but it doesn't sound like there's much doubt. Awesome! I'd love to see a NASB race! Cooool.

Gobert's not gonna last, drugs or no, IMO. He can go to the edge real well, but I don't think his ability goes into controlling the edge a la DuHamel etc.
