Wer, not until she's married. After that, it's quite ok. Blimey, don't you ever watch tv?
~stacey Mon, Apr 26, 1999 (14:19) #202
ahhh... that's why I don't
~autumn Mon, Apr 26, 1999 (20:56) #203
Alexander, I'm the only one here who watches TV. Everyone else has a life.
~riette Tue, Apr 27, 1999 (02:13) #204
I watch Home Improvement and Golden Girls.
~aschuth Tue, Apr 27, 1999 (07:14) #205
Anyway, if y'all would watch y'all's proper dose of tv every day, you'd know about this. You are not to have any sideshows going on while being engaged; after you're married, it's the normal thing (proof: switch on to the next talk show or soap).
~riette Tue, Apr 27, 1999 (10:00) #206
Marriage IS a soap.
~aschuth Tue, Apr 27, 1999 (10:02) #207
What'd I say?
~stacey Tue, Apr 27, 1999 (10:51) #208
National turn off your TV week...
~riette Tue, Apr 27, 1999 (11:43) #209
Stacey, have you looked for a dress yet?
~stacey Tue, Apr 27, 1999 (13:15) #210

~riette Wed, Apr 28, 1999 (04:40) #211
And when?
~stacey Wed, Apr 28, 1999 (09:26) #212
*laugh* Between October 99 and October 00 is about as detailed as we've gotten!
~riette Wed, Apr 28, 1999 (11:21) #213
ha-ha! Who cares anyway. I'm so happy for you!
~stacey Thu, Apr 29, 1999 (10:40) #214
thanks!
~caryn Mon, Jul 12, 1999 (01:31) #215

~stacey Mon, Jul 12, 1999 (14:46) #216

~KitchenManager Tue, Jul 13, 1999 (02:49) #217

~MarciaH Sun, Aug 29, 1999 (17:42) #218

~aschuth Mon, Aug 30, 1999 (07:54) #219
That'd be the deaf ones I preach to, right? Preach, you know, as in "Call Pat at Innerstate Rec. and order the late Epic Soundtracks 'Everything is Temporary'-CD NOW!"
~Kapinicus Sat, Oct 9, 1999 (19:08) #220
Do you have to download Virc to use the cam
~Kapinicus Sat, Oct 9, 1999 (19:10) #221
well
~MarciaH Sat, Oct 9, 1999 (19:22) #222
to which cam do you refer?
~aschuth Mon, Oct 11, 1999 (17:14) #223
You don't, you just go to www.innerstate.com and check their e-shop. End of sales plug. And welcome, Rhett!
~MarciaH Fri, Oct 22, 1999 (16:46) #224
Thank you; I shall!
~aschuth Tue, Feb 15, 2000 (06:41) #225
Expect more new topics on current, real-life bands or interesting labels to pop up in the near future...
~MarciaH Tue, Feb 15, 2000 (13:47) #226
Excellent news. (You can't believe how happy I am to find you posting again with newly minted eagerness for the topics you are creating. Yay! )
~aschuth Fri, Mar 24, 2000 (04:47) #227
Hmh, I wonder if we could use a topic on Hi-Fi gear, or maybe a whole AudioPhiles Conference, like e.g. the Radio one. That's different from the Music Conf - as this guy once said to me "Now you got the software, lemme get you fixed onto the hardware, too!" There's not a lot serious audio geeks want to talk about more than their high end amps 'n' stuff. Comments, please.
~MarciaH Fri, Mar 24, 2000 (12:51) #228
Alexander, post this comment in porch 6 http://www.spring.net/yapp-bin/restricted/read/porch/6/new But, you need to bring some friends with you to discuss these things. History was created then left to die by the hosts. Somehow, we gotta get more posters. Geo is thriving now because I went to my friends off of Spring and brought them into the fold to talk about things in there (but this beating a dead horse since you avoid Geo like it could give you an incurable social disease...)
~Ree Sat, Mar 25, 2000 (08:25) #229
Certain subjects are just more universal than others though. More people are interested in music than in geology (or law!). One can't make people develop a mad interest in something just for the sake of keeping a conference running. In that sense I think we shouldn't judge conferences on the amount of traffic they generate. Surely if just one person other than the host is interested, that makes it a valid conference. Mind, here speaks the mother of not-worthy-of-hosts'-ar$es though. Guilty.
~MarciaH Sat, Mar 25, 2000 (15:12) #230
...but are you interesting in Jewelry? We've been posting lovely things and pearls and talking about stuff we have and stuff we would like to have and things we wouldn't be caught dead in. I am not an art fan particularly, but when I did go into your conference I found the same people posting interesting and fun things. The same goes for Geo. Do not judge it as dreary until you have looked around. Then you can pick up a handy stone laying around and cast it at me. Know anything about leylines in Britain or Megaliths anywhere? How about archaeology? we have topics for both of them as well as killer cool site for kids.
~MarciaH Sat, Mar 25, 2000 (15:14) #231
Btw, Ree and Alexander, hosts of the History Conference...I seem to be the only one posting in there, too...does no one, including the hosts, like history, either?!
~MarciaH Sat, Mar 25, 2000 (15:18) #232
Yo! Ree...*hugs* You are being far too hard on yourself. You do not have the time or the brain power to spare for hostly stuff now. We'll wait and post stuff to keep your conferences alive. *more hugs*
~Ree Sun, Mar 26, 2000 (04:32) #233
I don't judge any conferences - I think they're all great. And I like history and jewelry immensely but, yes, I am in a bit of a difficult position - as I'm sure some other are. In many ways I haven't done anything with my life yet, whereas you've done alot. Sometimes I wish I were 40 with all this strive and struggle already behind me. You don't have to worry about what you want to achieve anymore, or about what is WORTH achieving and what not. I am 26, in the process of switching careers, trying to get a degree that will enable me to do so, while bringing 2 kids up more or less on my own, and it all requires a hell of an effort financially and emotionally. Therefore I have different priorities to set, and that means I have to work the spring around all the things I want to achieve, not the other way around. And in the few minutes I have over weekends I just don't have the energy to go into things that require alot of effort - I just want to see how my friends are. I hope that's not insulting.
~MarciaH Sun, Mar 26, 2000 (14:05) #234
*Hugs* John accuses me of evangelizing when I get onto something I think everyone in the universe must like as much as I like it. My apologies for doing that to you...you are too incredibly gifted and precious to do that to. Please forgive. I have a huge head start over you and I am stunned at the amount you have accomplished in your life. You have more gumption and ambition and the self-confidence to accomplish it I am in awe, and bow before your superiority. Financial independence is a wonderfully liberating thing. It has taken me a while and the help of some really understanding men - including my father... Your proirities are all in the right place and you cannot believe how proud I am to know you and to call you a friend. You stand head and shoulders above almostb every other woman I have ever known. *applause* and Kudos Ree! Amy time you need encouragement, just knock on my email box and I shall tell you more about what I admire about you!!!
~Ree Mon, Mar 27, 2000 (00:28) #235
I don't think you evangelize. I'm glad there is someone here who cares so much about the spring, and who makes it such a high priority. What you do here is vital to the conference's existence - and therefore providing people with a place to come to where one can just take a break from everything. So, thank you for that, Marcia. BTW, how is John?
~MarciaH Mon, Mar 27, 2000 (00:34) #236
I will be happy to tell him you asked about is well-being, Ree - you were special to him. He is doing fine and working the night shift in production at the radio station as well as doing a 6 hour morning show. He will be doing play-by-play this weekend for baseball - something at which he excels like no other. Thank you for asking, and thanks for your supportive words of my being on Spring. Goodness knows I don't hear it much IRL. *Hugs* Ree!
