O.K., will someone who appreciates these three songwrites and add more to the list please show up?

(touchy, touchy) i believe both neil sedaka and carole king (brill bldg. denizens, each), derived from brooklyn... and i know that both arlo guthrie and ramblin' jack elliot (the last of the brooklyn cowboys, you know) did... (you must admit, though, that neil does seem a little tall for that original line-up...)

I only know one Neil Sedaka song. I am loath to say what it is, or who I heard singing it, for fear of having my taste in music lambasted again. I will, however, be courageous enough to profess ignorance of Carole King and Ramblin' Jack Elliot. I guess Arlo Guthrie isn't an Okie like his father. Didn't know that.

Sam, I feel pity on the Carole King front. You? Unaware of Ms. King? And you call yourself a Neil Diamond fan?!?!? Trust me, you at least know her songs... "You make me feel like a nat--u--ral woman," "I feel the earth move... under my feet. I feel the sky tumblin' down," "my life has been a tapestry..." d'ya feel it, man?
~pmnh Wed, Dec 17, 1997 (19:17) #6
"will you still love me (tomorrow)"; "one fine day"; "he's so fine"; "the locomotion"; "up on the roof"; "some kind of wonderful"; "take good care of my baby"; and, of course, "it's too late", and "you've got a friend"... (she's terrific)
~pmnh Wed, Dec 17, 1997 (19:18) #7
course, i'm not SURE she's from brooklyn...
~stacey Wed, Dec 17, 1997 (19:23) #8
Does it MATTER?!?!?
~pmnh Wed, Dec 17, 1997 (20:03) #9

"You make me feel like a nat--u--ral woman," Excuse me while I gag. "I feel the earth move... under my feet. I feel the sky tumblin' down," One really should stay away from construction sites...(don't know that one) "my life has been a tapestry..." Now you're really unravelling! (don't know this one either) will you still love me (tomorrow)"; Who said I loved you now? (wish I didn't know this one, then again, no; if I didn't know it I might try listening to it) "one fine day"; Don't know this one either. "he's so fine" I heard this once. How did George Harrison think he would get away with stealing the tune? ; "the locomotion"; really useless. "up on the roof"; Cool Drifters song! Finally one I know & like! "some kind of wonderful" I don't have any Drifters albums, otherwise I'd know her name from the credits! Two! Two good songs! Ah Ah Aaah!; "take good care of my baby"; don't know this. and, of course, "it's too late", Liked Billy Paul's version... and "you've got a friend"... again I don't know this one. Sounds interesting!

Oh, it's here! I thought I'd lost it! The next conference has exactly the same name, but boy, is it different! Like entering the Twilight Zone!

O.K., if you live in or around D.C., could you do me a favour? Please call a D.C. radio station, request the song America by Neil Diamond, and dedicate it to Jesse Helms? I want to give that man nightmares; that should do it! "They're coming to America, They're coming to America, They're coming, They're coming, They're coming, They're coming, TODAY!!!" That'd really give 'im some cold sweats!
