But that's just rock, isn't it? I can never tell what is rock and what is rock 'n roll.
~terry Sat, Jul 25, 1998 (06:47) #4
Or what is roll?
~riette Sat, Jul 25, 1998 (07:18) #5
I know what roll is! Roll is what makes the rock romantic, right?
~terry Sun, Jul 26, 1998 (08:05) #6
Yep, like rolling in the hay.
~riette Sun, Jul 26, 1998 (09:42) #7
big smile OH OH yes.
~pmnh Wed, Jul 29, 1998 (15:14) #8
(excellent list of songs, terry) was always my impression that it's all rock and roll (NOT rock&roll, rock'n'roll, etc...) "rock" being a term used only by don kirschner, dick clark, others of that ilk...
~riette Wed, Aug 5, 1998 (11:26) #9
So what is the difference between rock and roll, and Rock? Is there a difference?
~terry Wed, Aug 5, 1998 (16:42) #10
Whoopee, she's back! I'm too exited to answer.
~riette Thu, Aug 6, 1998 (00:38) #11
WELL! How about now?
~terry Thu, Aug 6, 1998 (11:20) #12
No difference!
~riette Thu, Aug 6, 1998 (15:54) #13
big smile What a funny man you are. I bet you compose roll music in your spare time.

As far as the music goes, I like the following: "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen; "Touccatta" by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer; "Black Dog" by Led Zepplein; "American Pie" by Don Mclean; "Frankenstein" by The Edgar Winter Group; "Popcorn" by Hot Butter; "Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel; and others, but this is a good start. Of course I like everything the beatles recorded including the stuff they did, under the influence, which was never released.

I always liked Simon & Garfunkel too, in spite of its folkie-ness.
~TIM Tue, Nov 17, 1998 (17:00) #18
I love their lyrics.

*Fri, Jul 24, 1998 (15:37) | Paul Terry Walhus (terry) *Immortal rock and roll. * *What are the greatest rock and roll hits of all times? I say Bo Diddley! Anything he had his hands on is the greatest rock of all times! And it does him justice when they say "Bo put the ROCK in ROCK 'N' ROLL!" Yesterday I've listened to a jam session he'd played with Chuck Berry, recorded in March 1964. Wow, his guitar always blasts me away, makes me dance, and stomp, and shake, rattle and roll! Sing silly songs, shout serious shtuff, whatever - it's something one simply can't be indifferent to!
