http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/100_greatest/62102/episode.jhtml Now the bad news: No Something. No Michelle. In fact, no anything by the Beatles. No Nights In White Satin. One Bon Jovi song, and it's not Always. (There is an Always, but it's by Atlantic Starr...) Wonderful Tonight is the only song from the Patricia Boyd Trilogy to make the list; Layla is as out of it as Something They should have had a clause in this list to not include any song released less than five years ago. Hero by Enrique Iglesias?? Back At One by Brian McKnight? Who is going to remember those five years from now? How Do I Live by LeAnn Rimes? This is supposed to be 100 Greatest Love Songs of Rock & Roll, not 100 Most Annoying Songs of Rock & Roll!!! Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra is at #16 on the list of 100 Greatest Love Songs of Rock & Roll. Frank Sinatra must be rolling in his grave, 'coz he HATED Rock & Roll! I suppose I should be thankful that S***ney Bears, Christina Aguacate and Shake-It-Ira aren't on this list...

The complete absence of The Chi-Lites, The Stylistics and The Delfonics should say something. What, have none of these people heard "Oh Girl" or "Didn't I Blow Your Mind"? Nothing by ABBA, either. Dropping "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and adding "Knowing Me Knowing You" or "Super Trouper", would not be inconceivable... then again, maybe I should "Dream On" (better than "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and done by the same group, but still missing...) This one may not be well enough known for consideration: "What a dream I had, Pressed in organdy, Clothed in crinoline, A smoky burgundy Softer than the rain; "I wandered empty streets down Past the shop display, I heard cathedral bells Dripping down the alleyway As I walked on; "And when you ran to me, your Cheeks blushed with the night; We walked on frosted fields Of juniper and lamplight; I held your hand... "And when I awoke And felt you warm and near, I kissed your honey hair With my grateful tears; Oh I love you, girl; Oh I love you." - For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her, written by Paul Simon, sung by Arthur Garfunkel
