~jgross Fri, Feb 19, 1999 (00:26) #2
this is where we get to tell the ghosts how they're doin' and what can be done better? I can't see you. maybe a little less light would help. oooo-yeahhhh that......that startled me for real.
~wolf Sun, Feb 21, 1999 (15:29) #3
ok, wer, i made a background to use here and can't get it to show up. i put it in the rc file and it's called believe.gif, can you help me?
~wolf Sun, Feb 21, 1999 (20:58) #4
wer, i made a complete set for this conference. it's in the paranormal folder. tell me if you think they stink. and could you send me the rc codes so i can quit bugging you on how to change those things? i went to the yapp user guide and it showed me all sorts of things but backgrounds and stuff. you're such a sweetie, thanks in advance *smooch*
~KitchenManager Sun, Feb 21, 1999 (22:32) #5
uh...it's a bit more complicated than that, Wolf... I'll try and get to Terry's this week, and set up what you've got done...they have to go in a special place that you (I don't think) have read/write access to... I like what you've done so far, but that is not a complete set of buttons...
~KitchenManager Sun, Feb 21, 1999 (22:35) #6
You will need to have replacement gifs for all of the following: back.xbm hot.gif preserve.gif retire.gif cfcreate.gif kill.gif prevconf.gif search.gif enter.gif new.gif previtem.gif thaw.gif forget.gif nextconf.gif readnew.gif freeze.gif nextitem.gif remember.gif help.gif participants.gif resign.gif
~KitchenManager Sun, Feb 21, 1999 (22:36) #7
except, you don't need hot.gif, new.gif, or back.xbm
~wer Sun, Feb 21, 1999 (23:00) #8
you got close, and I did what I could... try it for a few days, and tell me what to do next...go look in the rc file, and see what I did...
~wer Sun, Feb 21, 1999 (23:14) #9
actuall, Wolf, looks like all you need is thaw.gif previtem.gif nextitem.gif nextconf.gif (your current one says create topic...) udder than that, you did good! you wanna do a horizontal rule, as well?
~wolf Mon, Feb 22, 1999 (08:27) #10
you're such a sweetheart, wer! you really like them?? i'll see what i can do for a rule....
~wolf Thu, Feb 7, 2036 (04:32) #11
nextconf.gif is fixed. do ya like the ufo? am working on a ruler....
~wolf Thu, Feb 7, 2036 (04:36) #12
alright, thaw.gif, previtem.gif, and nextitem.gif are uploaded under paranormal. i don't know where these buttons belong though, so if you don't mind incorporating them. i can change the color scheme using the same names if you don't like this, but i was looking for something easy to read and take little time to load up. thanks, sweetie *hugs*
~KitchenManager Thu, Feb 7, 2036 (01:40) #13
it's intriguing, Wolfie...wonder what anyone else thinks...
~wolf Wed, Feb 24, 1999 (08:16) #14
good question. we need to figure out how to get folks to come over here...
~ratthing Wed, Feb 24, 1999 (10:35) #15
i just accidentally stumbled here! i did not know that this conf had been created. announce it in the porch conf.
~wolf Wed, Feb 24, 1999 (11:01) #16
okay!
~KitchenManager Wed, Feb 24, 1999 (17:19) #17
see, Ray, I can do some things by myself...
~ratthing Wed, Feb 24, 1999 (22:11) #18
never doubted that for a moment, wer. however, i am worried 'bout your persistent use of those Huggies "Pull Ups"
~KitchenManager Wed, Feb 24, 1999 (22:55) #19
it's all about maximum utilization of available resources, Ray... (well, that and the ever-present need to CYA...)
~wer Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (12:49) #20
"What would happen if you melted? You know, you never really hear this talked about that much, but spontaneous combustion? It exists! . . . [People] burn from within. . . .Sometimes they'll be in a wooden chair and the chair won't burn, but there'll be nothing left of the person. Except sometimes the teeth. Or the heart. No one speaks about this-- but it's for real." --Keanu Reeves
~stacey Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (15:22) #21
is that a suggestion for our host??
~wolf Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (17:43) #22
how does keanu reeves know all this?
~stacey Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (17:44) #23
he learned it in his acting classes *gag*
~wolf Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (17:52) #24
really! he's one actor that should just stand there and look good. (i did like him in a walk in the clouds)
~stacey Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (17:53) #25
never saw it... he obviously doen't talk in that flick, eh?
~wolf Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (18:03) #26
not much (not like in speed, anyway)...
~stacey Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (18:04) #27
and not with an awful, horrible, contrived accent?
~wolf Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (18:08) #28
no, his tone of voice is lighter and not so monotone....
~stacey Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (18:08) #29
whew.
~wolf Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (18:11) #30
yeah. hey, i've gotta run. talk to you later *smile*
~stacey Fri, Mar 5, 1999 (18:13) #31
buh bye! (nice chatting with ya -- seems we haven't been able to do that for awhile!) My suggestion for the host: take a nice long hot bath to relieve the troubles of the real world...
~wolf Sat, Mar 6, 1999 (11:13) #32
wer, got us a link to mufon. it's in my file under paranormal, called mufonb1.gif. and you know the link info for that site......thanks sweetie!
~KitchenManager Sat, Mar 6, 1999 (11:41) #33

~KitchenManager Sun, Mar 7, 1999 (00:17) #35

~wolf Mon, Mar 15, 1999 (11:06) #39
i likes it when a man blushes....what sort of colors were they, wer? maybe i can figure out the coding.....
~KitchenManager Mon, Mar 15, 1999 (22:12) #40
light dusty maroon? I'll see if I can duplicate it...
~wer Thu, Mar 25, 1999 (23:58) #41

~wolf Fri, Mar 26, 1999 (11:47) #42

~wolf Sat, Apr 17, 1999 (10:41) #55
i've submitted this conference to a paranormal webring. as soon as i receive the code, it'll be placed on the page. wer, it's a pretty large pic and stuff, do you think we should post it on the main paraspring page or create a webring page just for those things? i'm not sure how to do it or if we can....
~KitchenManager Sat, Apr 17, 1999 (13:50) #56
either/or...also depends on the rules of each webring...
~wolf Sat, Apr 17, 1999 (18:52) #57
this one didn't really say. in fact, it didn't even give me a site id. and i'm still waiting for the html code. usually they come right after you submit. not this time.
~KitchenManager Sat, Apr 17, 1999 (23:40) #58
what's the name of the ring?
~wolf Sun, Apr 18, 1999 (10:36) #59
paranormal. and still no html code.
~riette Fri, Sep 24, 1999 (09:57) #60
This is really cool, Wolf! OKay, here's my not so paranormal thing. Do you ever get that thing where you sort of gain time, forget about it, then experience a 'present' situation like a memory? It happens to me frequently that I sort of black out, and it's like an image fixes itself in my head. Then, a few days later I'll be in a situation, and I'll realize that it's happened to me already. Chris didn't believe me when I told him, so when the situation occurred again, I told him what he was going to say to me before he said it. Why does it happen? I'm sure one's sub-conscious can sort of jump time. At my summerschool there was a spiritualist woman. She had some interesting things to tell. For instance, she said, that thing that happens when you're about to fall asleep, then suddenly half wake up with a shock before going into a deep sleep? Her explanation is this: there is an invisible chord that connects our souls with our bodies. When we fall asleep the soul leaves the body, and hovers above it, still attached to the chord, which we then experience as dreaming. Sometimes it happens that, whe an upsetting dream starts, the soul protects us by returning to the body, and that is the shock one experience - the soul sort of falling back into the body. I found her stories absolutely fascinating.
~Isabel Fri, Sep 24, 1999 (17:11) #61
You're not talking about Deja Vu here, aren't you? That would mean you would only think, that you've seen something before, but you said you can say what will happen right before it happens! So this is REAL clairvoyance (there's a topic for that, BTW) or clearsightedness you're talking about? ( So could you tell us the lottery numbers one day before, so we all get rich? Great! *grin*) No, I'm sure you're not talking rubbish here, and I'm sure that what you tell really exists, but I can't say why.... When I was about 14 years old, I had trained myself to minimize my breathtaking and heartbeat so much that I got into a stadium, were I felt like leaving my body. I wandered trough the house, saw my mom working in the kitchen and things like that. ( I did this after school, noonish, when I was tired). I could tell her afterwards what happened in the house while I was "sleeping". For a short time it was fun, but one day I got a panic while doing this, and thought I couldn't get back and wake up again. I ne er did this again! Years later a teacher of mine who was experienced in meditation and stuff, told me that you could even bring your heartbeat to stop! I know that I still have the ability to do this, but I would never play with it again! Don't try this at home!
~wolf Fri, Sep 24, 1999 (20:27) #62
oh my gosh, isabel! your deja vu sounds like mine, ree. it's really scary but not frightening, you know? i used to be good at taking myself somewhere else when i was young. i could control my dreams. and going to that quiet place, mine was on a raft in warm water and no sharks existed. i could feel the sun and the rocking of the raft and hear the lapping of the water. it was wonderful.
~Isabel Sat, Sep 25, 1999 (05:00) #63
I forgot something to add: The impression of leaving my body came surely from oxygen deficiency in the brain. Must be something totally else in your case, Ree!
~aschuth Sun, Sep 26, 1999 (15:05) #64
Oh yes, you can create impressive perceptions by wrong breathing, like hyperventilating. Not to be recommended. Riette, was that always in a sleep, or also during wake states?
~riette Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (04:18) #65
Isabel, that thing you describe sounds REALLY scary. I think the brain is capable of alot more than we think it is, but I don't necessarily want to try it out! Must be cool to be able to do stuff like that though! I don't know if it is deja vu with me, because it isn't scary at all. The thing that fixes itself in my mind is usually something quite trivial, like a normal conversation. It's just that I get into situations where I suddenly grow aware of having been there before, and knowing exactly what will be said and gestured. It doesn't really happen when I'm asleep. It's silly, but when I wash the dishes, I always do it with my eyes closed, and my head resting against the overhead cupboard, and it happens alo like that - I don't have control over it. Or when I'm painting and tired, and all the patterns and colours sort of merge into each other. Yes, usually a situation where I'm not concentrating on anything in particular. Does it ever happen to you that you unthinkingly, and in a moment of anger wish a bad thing upon a person, and then it happens? I find it rather alarming when that happens.
~wolf Mon, Sep 27, 1999 (16:53) #66
what you described above was deja vu (not the wishing bad things part). mine have been lasting longer. used to be just a flash, but now it's a minute or so and i'm stricken deaf and dumb. it's like going in slow-mo and i know what's gonna happen next. i have a hard time wishing a bad thing upon someone else because i'm of the belief that doing that means something 10 times worse will happen to you.
~riette Tue, Sep 28, 1999 (04:26) #67
Not with me. The first time was when my horse threw me - I was twelve, wanted to play the piano, and the moment I hit the ground, I knew something bad had happened to my left hand. Turned out afterwards that so many muscles were torn that it still doesn't work properly. But at that moment I was so angry, and I shouted at the horse, 'I hope you DIE!' A week later in hospital my grandpa rang me to say the horse had died of poisoning. I didn't really mean for the poor horse to die, so I can't understand why it did. Ever since it has happened numerous times, and last year the worst thing of all happened. Chris applied for a job as music chair of Brisbane university. He was appointed provisionally. Then came along this woman - she had studied there, she was good, so just as we got ready to pack, the job was given to her. Chris was very dissappointed and I was just angry. So I said something bad. Just in the heat of the moment - I didn't mean it that way. Two weeks later one of the guys on the committee rang Chris to say she had started work on the Monday, the Tuesday she had a brain haemmorage, and the Wednesday she died. I feel so terrible about it that I try not to see people much, 'cos I'm scared of getting angry.
~MarciaH Wed, Sep 29, 1999 (19:11) #68
Oh Ree...you cannot blame yourself for coincidences. Doubtless, thone praying she would get the job...and now they think they jinxed her...!
~MarciaH Wed, Sep 29, 1999 (19:47) #69
That will teach me to answer a serious post using telnet...My comment was about those others praying for her to get the job and do well in it...they are probably thinking they are the ones who jinxed her...
~MarciaH Wed, Sep 29, 1999 (19:48) #70
Oh, and about now, I'll bet you could use a comforting *Big Mom Hug* - from me (you are just young enough that I could get away with it...!)
~wolf Wed, Sep 29, 1999 (20:31) #71
my goodness, ree, what a shock for you, especially when you were young! we have no control over other people. perhaps you saw something and it manifested itself in your angry thoughts.
~riette Fri, Oct 1, 1999 (02:17) #72
I hope it was just coincidence. But it's happened many times, so I can't help but worry about whether one's anger can really be strong enough to influence what happens to people. . Another time in school there was a sadistic fart of a teacher who looked like Hitler. He humiliated me in front of the whole class for something or other - I don't remember what. So I walked out and said to him, 'I hope you break.' That afternoon he hit a truck with his car, and was in hospital for several weeks. He literally broke.
~RochelleW Fri, Oct 1, 1999 (07:41) #73
Wow, Reitte, you've got some incredibly strong vibes. Also, I'm a bit concerned as well. While I'm not disputing that this might be coincidence I also must admit that I don't believe in coincidence. I believe things happen for a reason and while we may not understand why until much, much later (or perhaps not until after we die) there are influences beyond our understanding. Now I'm NOT saying you were responsible, but if you are seeing a pattern then you shouldn't deny the evidence. I would recommend a few things if you are concerned (and it sounds like you are) that would help channel the anger in more positive ways plus give you ways to ground the power when it starts flowing. If you're interested, shoot me an e:mail offline and we'll talk.
~riette Sat, Oct 2, 1999 (02:53) #74
I'd defenitely like to find out more about this stuff. Do you think you could post it here, Rochelle? I think everyone would find tips to channel their energy in a positive way useful. I don't believe in coincidence either, and the above 3 example are not the only ones. My theory is that when one's anger reaches a certain intensity, you can maybe for a second or two 'see' unconsciously what is going to happen in the near future to the person whom your anger is directed at. If that something happens to be bad, it coincides with your anger, you say the word, and of course it happens. Or does that not make sense?
~wolf Sat, Oct 2, 1999 (15:00) #75
hmmmm....what is the correct term for that? telekinisis (or is that the ability to move things with thought?)
~MarciaH Sat, Oct 2, 1999 (18:40) #76
Telekinesis is the ability to move objects (bend spoons?) using just the power on the mind..
~riette Sun, Oct 3, 1999 (08:54) #77
I've got no idea about terminology. Rochelle, where are you??
~RochelleW Sun, Oct 3, 1999 (11:30) #78
but I've been fighting a bad headache. I hate sinuses. They're enough of a bother that I don't feel like writing deep thoughts which is what I'd like to do for you. Give me a few more days - hopefully it'll be gone soon.
~MarciaH Sun, Oct 3, 1999 (22:40) #79
I can sympathize with you...I am battling my first toothache ever...and I cannot chew...and it does not let up! Tomorrow I end it all - in teh DDS office!
~riette Mon, Oct 4, 1999 (09:25) #80
Good for you! Rochelle, I'm terribly sorry about your headaches. You musn't worry about all this - just rest and try to get some sleep.
~RochelleW Tue, Oct 5, 1999 (21:03) #81
Hey, Riette. You mentioned in an earlier post about how your anger might give you access to seeing into someone's future and you see what's going to happen to them, then you say something that has to do with an unconscious "knowing" and then it happens and you feel bad. Well...that certainly is a complicated theory! :-) I tend to theorize a bit differently. Each of us has a soul (aka karma, spirit, powercenter, etc) that is made of something. Since energy and matter are the two basic substances that we know of and sometimes they're interchangable, I think of the soul as the energy that drives the body. Energy can be transformed into various forms. For example, we know about radiation, heat, sound and bunches more. What if we simply don't yet understand the physics of the soul's energy force? Some people see uras, others say they can take pictures of krylian (right word?) radiation eminating from the body. Some religions talk about halos, others talk of a holy place full of white light, there are others that simply don't come to mind right now. So if all these kinds of thoughts are lumped together, let me state my assumption about life: Life is made of both matter and energy. The spirit is the energy part and the physical presence is the matter. Ok, now another thing I believe is that energy isn't good nor evil, it simply IS. It is the intent and purpose behind the energy (the mind) that determines if a person is good or bad. For example, if a woman kills a kid by hitting the kid with a car, is she evil? What if she was driving below the speed limit, paying attention and the kid darted into the traffic? To me, it is the intent and not necessarily the result which makes something bad or evil. I believe our minds can shape and form the matter and energy that forms life. The ability to modify the matter and energy depends on the individual's talent. Some people have an incredible voice with no voice training. Some people are atheletically gifted. Others have a knack for numbers. What if there are people who have talents for working with their personal energy? Or the energy of others? We call these psychic abilities. I believe you have a psychic talent to influence the life energy of others. And just as a strong person with good heart doesn't go around beating up on everybody or a natural siprano doesn't go around shattering windows everywhere, people with strong talents learn to temper their abilities. I also believe that our soul doens't just exist on this plain but extends into this reality and others (reincarnation, heaven/hell, etc) so that what we do here influences what has/will happen elsewhere. A lot of religions believe that what you do will come back to you. If you desire to be helpful, to encourage creation and the betterment of the universe, then the things that you do should be positive rather than negative. Ah, you've probably heard the saying that things come back in threes or that you earn karma points by the way in which you live your life. By purposfully reinforcing positive energy and decreasing negative energy, you become that which Creation meant you to be. And for me, that's my purpose in life. Good nite, Rochelle
~riette Wed, Oct 6, 1999 (13:09) #82
That's very interesting. And how do I direct the energy? I rarely get angry enough for it to sort of 'take over', which is when stuff happens - the rest of the time I work normal frustrations off through my work and studies. But how does one go about learning to control the energy? Are there any special techniques? I think I'm a pretty impulsive person; I never bottle anything up, but that's not necessarily positive, because when I'm angry, I just let it all out like a torrent, and then it's over. s there anyway one can get the anger or excitement or whatever it is, to WAIT a bit so that you can rationalize it before deciding what to do with it?
