Dear friends and colleagues,
You are invited to join a week-long global collaboration in Knowledge Ecology.
Our collaborative design will connect events at two locations:
a) an "Experiential Journey through a Knowledge Creating, Sharing and Learning Environment" that starts
at the "Knowledge in Action" conference in Herzliya, Israel, October 29 -30
b) the "Knowledge in Action Online" conference in cyberspace, that will take place in web-conference of
the CoIL Interaction Center, October 27 - November 3,
both of them facilitated by Arian Ward and George Por
The purpose of this on-site/online learning expedition is to discover and demonstrate how a combination
of electronic and social technologies can foster collaboration and self-organization in virtual
communities, free from the constraints of distance.
To read a detailed description of the process and register, go here:
http://www.co-i-l.com/coil/wnew/kejourney.shtml
Registration is free.
We hope to see you among the pioneers of this learning expedition.

Good luck!
Speaking of porches... mine is covered with 2 feet of snow, four feet in some places where it drifted.

For one, you had to register by noon Monday;
for two,
The purpose of this on-site/online learning expedition is to discover
and demonstrate how a combination of electronic and social technologies
can foster collaboration and self-organization in virtual communities,
free from geographical constraints . We hope to see you among the
pioneers of this learning expedition.
If you are curious about where some of the ideas inspiring this event
came from, you can read " a case of distance collaboration in a virtual
community of practice" and the " Quest for Collective Intelligence".
In this on-site/online learning journey, participants will have a chance
to form "scouting parties," action teams focusing on the hot questions
of their choice related to workplace communities, communities of
practice, knowledge ecology, knowledge and communication systems, and
knowledge-based management. We are aiming at maximizing the
cross-fertilization of ideas and action between the on-site and online
teams .
I seem to be way out of my league amongst the Knowledge Management pros.
We'll see how it goes, and I'll keep you posted.

There is and it has changed places. Is anyone here active in this group? I hate Sundays on Spring...all I do is talk to myself. I should get a life!

What did you find on that site, I usually check in on Sundays, but I was
busy, busy, busy doing work on my place in the country, wiring up the new
cabin and planning for the plumber who is coming in this morning to finish
up the cottage.

The current URL is http://www.webb.net/webb/frameset.asp?returnpath=%2Fwebb%2Fcommunity%2Fcommunity%2Easp&load=1&webbid=0&id=2358&sid=12091
for the inside stuff. Yesterday there were 7 signed on talking about Something in the Knowledge conference which has several topics. I did not venture in.
Understand about working around the place...this one could use it big time, and we are getting there... It was just so cold (low 70's) and dark and rainy that the computer seemed to be the warmest place for me.
