The Spring now has a paypal account set up to help with donations and memberships to spring.net, austen.com, and firth.com (and other sites to come). You'll see it on the main page and other pages. If you're a paypal member (sign up at http://www.paypal.com) you can make contributions to the Spring and become a Spring member.

The first 15 folks to send $25 via the Paypal button at http://www.spring.net will get an 8x10 original glossy picture of a nature scene at the Spring's ranch in picturesque Cedar Creek, Texas.

I made a Paypal payment to Kaylene Thaler (from the company that makes our conferencing software) and I received two $25 PayPal payments. By the way, if you sign up for Paypal on the Spring's referral page at http://www.spring.net/paypal the Spring gets $5 for each referral.
We no longer get referral fees from Visto, as they've stopped their program. So now we're using Paypal as our source of clickthrough revenue. I still feel like the Visto folks have a good service and I never saw how they could afford those $2/signup referral fees they were paying. I think they must have gotten deluged with scam artists, which hurt the folks like us who were using it as a legitimate source of revenue.
So I'm going to take two pictures today and get them off in the mail to our first two generous PayPal donors!

Thanks to all the folks who sent contributions and the PayPal contributions today, our bill with Kaylene is paid.
I just got this from her in email.
I have received your payment and upgraded your license. You can now have up
to 10000 hits per day at your web site before your license will need to be
upgraded.

But she had said it would be upped to 12000 hits per day...
BTW, Terry, I think the people of Drool should be thanked for paying nearly 80% of the bill.

Thanks to the people of Drool!
I would be interested to know whether they generate more/less than 80% of the hits. Does anyone know?

This, of course, wouldn't be the place as very few people from Drool go into other conferences.

Agree...I think it would be v. much appreciated if Terry thanked Drool for their efforts in the fund-raising endeavor. I always go to the Spring Pledge Topic,
Occasionally here, but no where else.Mostly time restraints.
BTW thanks Terry for setting up Pay Pal. I was the collectiion agent in England in Sept./Oct.I exchanged their UK Pounds and converted it to $$$.And handed it over to Karen at O'Hare in Chicago on my return. This new procedure will be easier. I posted the info on #134 and #130 where many of the overseas folks hang-out.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Drool Rules!
And I'll thank them in topic 100 in Drool so they'll see it, as well.

New paypal is banking@wholetech.com
Now is the time I especially need contributions to keep Spring, Firth and Drool running as I moved to a new server and owe a year's hosting fee... priority: high. Urgency: high.
Thanks, Terry
