mashed potatos are the ultimate comfort food. If you add cream and garlic they
are simply the ultimate food!

I ate there! Dots place is good! Get there a little late or early to avoid
huge lines. And sometimes this doesn't even work. It's the North Austin
answer to the once popular Virginia's in South Austin. (no longer around).

I ate at Dot's once and had a yucky experience with their salad bar. Food
poisoning according to the doc!

This was not good. I had a much better experience there with all american greasy food.

Magnolia's got the comfort thing going for me.
Do most people eat when they need comfort? When I'm upset I can't eat anything... sadly enough days on end went by in college. When I'm upset I exercise (and don't eat) it makes for a grizzly combo -- no fuel/expending tons of energy. Eight of ten times though, I'd feel better with the exercise in a few days and everything would right itself.

My comfort place...
St. Mark's Coffee house in LoDo. Of course, that's if I'm feeling like leaving the comfort of my own home.

Flipnotics in the summer. MOJO's in the winter. -- I don't KNOW why!
I also really enjoyed a quick jaunt through Zilker and the Greenbelt on my MTB or an easy jog around Town Lake (dawn or dusk, never in between)

I don't really know why I prefered one in the summer and another in the winter but, tis true -- you did not find me at MOJO's in the warm months.
In retrospect, most of those months seemed warm compared to here. The weekend high was 14 degrees and we were at a football game!
