Where can you get that great breakfast, preferably around the clock.

Waterloo Ice House on Burnet gets my vote for best breakfast.

this morning I had an Asagio Cheese bagel with Salmon Schmear and a cup of Tension Tamer... not really feeling stressed this a.m. but I thought maybe I could use it as a preventative!
~terry Mon, Mar 2, 1998 (10:57) #3
What does Tension Tamer have in it? Just want to know what you're on z*/
~stacey Mon, Mar 2, 1998 (18:05) #4

stacey, you eat some of the strangest sounding stuff *grin* personally, i like brunch, that 10 am eat-a-thon...won't need a bite the rest of the day, haven't found a tolerable place yet......

Austin used to have a really good Sunday brunch at the 15th Street Cafe (?) under the Guest Quarters Hotel. About once a month we have brunch with a group of friends, always potluck and at someone's house.

Sunday brunch at mothers is the mother of all Sunday brunches.

YUM! (good to see you paul, it's been awhile! how's the ham radio?)
~terry Fri, Mar 13, 1998 (19:10) #14
Great stuff on the ham radio. One of my room mates, Garrett, and I have been talking up a storm all over town. We may put it out on the spring's realaudio server soon (our ham repeater). New room mates at our big house have arrived. Robin, who's bring a couple of travel trailers to park out on the land, Suzanne, who has posted a couple of times here, and Adelyn, who's a massage therapist for Apple Computer. We all get along great! I also just made contact with Pat Luppens, a high school friend, and Merle Busch, my high school physics teacher. There's a truly amazing story here about the times we had together with Jim Fox and Helen Huth, who both died. Believe me, it's amazing. And it's awesome that the Internet is bring us back together again. I just registered http://www.helenhuth.com but the website isn't built yet.
~stacey Fri, Mar 13, 1998 (19:12) #15
great paul, sounds like your life is 'coming up roses' at the moment. (imagining Austin late afternoon temps and breezes out on the 'new' land!)
~terry Fri, Mar 13, 1998 (19:16) #16
I'll be talking about this more. It's some very deep, philosophical stuff from my adolesence that cries to break into some coherent recounting. Helen Huth was one of those people whose memory flickers like an eternal flame. And Jim Fox has joined her. The events around Merle, Pat, Jim and Helen really shaped a lot of my feelings and had a deep impact on me personally. It's kind of awesome that Pat, Merle and I are talking via email again.

heard from an old friend of mine as well... now married, living in Houston, starting a family... back to breakfast... on Sunday had breakfast at the Harvest. Whole foods, earthy, lots of tofu, tempeh and seiten dishes. Reminds me of Austin's Martin Brothers (ah the memories!) and the BEST smoothies!
~terry Mon, Mar 16, 1998 (18:00) #18
Too bad Martin Brothers shut down, I see Jeff Martin at parties pretty regularly.

Best breakfasts! From citysearch today. 1. Magnolia Cafe 2. Kerbey Lane Cafe 3. Taco Xpress 4. Dan's Hamburgers 5. The Omelettry 6. Trudy's Texas Star Restaurant & Bar 7. Cisco's Restaurant Bakery & Bar 8. Star Seeds Cafe 9. Taco Shack 10. Juan in a Million I thought the Omelettry would have been in the top spot with Kerbey Lane second and Magnolia third. How did Taco Express and Dan's Humburgers slip in to third and fourth? Never heard of Cisco's, Star Seeds is cool. Juan in a Million??
