Hi folks. I'm posting this on the Porch because more people visit here than in Sports. I'm working with Terry to get a multi-day Hill country tour (vacation like, not race) organized. Tentative schedule, fall of 2005. My feeling is it would be a great pre-curser to the new United Texas Tour (pro race) that will be staging out of Dallas in Sept 2005. I, as some of you know, live in Massachusetts, but am an Austinite at heart. I can take care of building a site for this event, sending emails to cycling clubs for 'best route' info, but I need some folks on the ground locally. I need people as ride leaders; there will be people of different riding levels, so I need leaders willing to handle different speeds & distances. You need to be able to handle those little road emergencies like tire changes and jumped chains. You need to be able communicate safe (and legal) riding technique. You need to have fun! At this point, these are volunteer positions, though I'm sure we can talk Terry into feeding everybody with the guests at BastropFork Ranch ;-) Suggestions... route info... anything; send me an email; gena.ratcliff@comcast.net If you have a friend who would make a great ride leader but isn't on the Spring, copy this post and email it to them. Thanks folks!

Trying googling the Austin bicycle sites and sending out some direct appeals if you think this will get results faster. I'm not sure how many local cyclists read this bbs.
