mike@griggs.demon.co.uk Can we set up the Spring Yapp software to do e-mail forwarding? Then we could all just use our @www.spring.net addresses and then get them forwarded to our normal accounts. Just a thought.
~riette #8
Sure, I'll see to all the technicalities straight away, Mike. Just leave it to Ritte....
~terry #9
Email that question to Kaylene Mike, good idea!
~autumn #10
No, I want Riette to handle it! :-) (we'll never get email again, will we?)
~riette #11
rolling on the floor laughing myself to bits You're too kind, Autumn, really!
~osceola #12
gklos@austin.cc.tx.us
~autumn #13
Another Texan!
~osceola #14
Ya-fuckin'-hoo.... Actually, I'm more of an Austinite than a Texan. Some of you know the difference.
~riette #15
Which would be?
~terry #16
Austininites are edgier for one. Austin is like an island in the big ocean of Texas with it's culture, music, literati, and high tech scene. It's also got an awesome natural environment with lakes, hills, trees, and greenery. It's quite a package compared to the rest of the state.
~osceola #17
Well, the rest of the state is environmentally pretty, too. (OK, not all of it.) But in Austin it's the people and the culture(s) they create and mix together. By culture(s) I mean more than stuff to do -- I mean an attitude. It's edgy AND laid back, and that's hard to figure out, so you don't figure it out, you just live in it. I just wanted to live in Austin awhile, and grad skool was a pretense to justify it. I really did care about pursuing a Ph.D. (pronounced Fudd)but I picked Austin because it didn't snow, the History Dept. only required one foreign language, and I liked the music scene. That was 9 years ago. I think I'll stay.
~terry #18
Think I'll stay too. You know I wouldn't have stuck around Austin if it weren't for the fact that my van broke down in front of the Armadillo World Headquarters while I was driving through. Broken axle. And that night there was a concert with the Talking Heads and B-52s. Got me hooked on theAustin scene and I've been here ever since. Think that was 1979 or so.
~stacey #19
I was homesick for Austin for quite some time but now it might be kinda difficult to pull me away from all this sunshine and the mountains.
~riette #20
How big is Austin there - how many people approximately?
~jgross #21
gettin' it right this time: jimmeroo@yahoo.com jimgross@earthlink.net [what was wrong---jimgross@earthlink.com]
~terry #22
Stacey are you still using stacey@www.spring.net or stacey@spring.net as your primary email address? Or are you using another one?
~aschuth #23
How much did posting your primary addresses increase the account of spam mails for you? Since about two weeks, the mail account behind my Spring-user-login gets loads of spam. Never gotten any before (besides stuff from record companies, but that's at least infos I might find useful).
~aschuth #24
And I suspect they nicked this address off the Spring user logs...
~Isabel #25
Got it! MushiMushi@gmx.de!
~Isabel #26
Hope this one won't get stuffed with junk and spam!
~riette #27
MushiMushi??? Ha-ha!!! That sounds like my aunt's name - aunt Musha, who was born on the same day as Adolf!
~Isabel #28
Mmh, I thought it was something the Japanese say when telephone rings, like "HalloHallo!" - but who knows?
~riette #29
ha-ha! Yes! I always thought of my aunt as a kind of potatoe from the sound of her name and the look of her.
~MarciaH #30
Thank you dear Isabel. You are a real person now =) MushiMushi is the way Japanese people answer the phone, is it not???!!!
~MarciaH #31
I test-drove Isabel's email and it was swiftly returned to me as undeliverable. ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- Bummer!!! Is gmx.de down?
~MarciaH #32
When you paste her email address to your address book, remove the ! at the end of it...that was the permanent fatal error *blushing with embarrassment*
~stacey #33
*laughing hysterically!*
~MarciaH #34
figured you would. I'll withdraw into Drool and Geo for the while...
~Isabel #35
OOOOOooooops! The exclamation mark was only meant as an exclamation of happiness! Hey but it works! :-))) (That's a triple smile, not a double chin!)
~riette #36
Thank God! For a moment there I thought you had posted my picture!!
~aschuth #37
Yo, girls! Havin' a good time?
~MarciaH #38
I was until I realized I posted the comments which pertained to the comments here on porch 62. Oh well, they will send the guy with the white coat with the l o n g sleeves shortly... so very sorry

stacey@www.spring.net (til Paul sells it!!) staceyleigh48@hotmail.com is good too
~riette #42
Ooh, you're so versatile!! riettewalton@yahoo.com
~stacey #43
*grin* I'm an email-address-a-holic... I've actually got several more!
~riette #44
You do?!!!! You have never discovered the 'folders' button for all the different people you're in contact with? grin
~stacey #45
I have indeed but... free email addresses just seem to good to pass up! I'm an electronic pack rat so it justs gives me more space for silly stuff!
~MarciaH #46
...and if you are like me, you have forgotten the password if not the login. I have one in eudoramail.com, but I devoutly hope no one has used it...I cannot remember how to get in anymore!
~riette #47
ha-ha! You two are too weird!
~MarciaH #48
...somewhere I have a sticky-note with the passoword and login on it, but I have hidden it from the troll. I'll find it one of these days and then blow the cobwebs out of the place. Perhaps this is one he cannot get into...but he cannot my Eudora, either. It is Booby-trapped...he..he..
~MarciaH #49
Hey! we are in excellent company. We know a certain gentleman who guestimates that he has over 20 of them...!
~riette #50
Who is that????
~MarciaH #51
The guy at the top of my Babes list in the first 4 places, actually...!
~riette #52
post a picture!!
~MarciaH #53
...it has already been posted...
~riette #54
huh? The only picture I remember is that of Tim or Chad the geologist - name doesn't matter.
~MarciaH #55
we are thinking of two different men. David the Geologist is my son. The other person shall remain nameless for the foreseeable future...by necessity.
~riette #56
OH! David is your SON?? $hit, woman, your genes are golden!
~MarciaH #57
Yup! Since they only gave me one chance to have a baby, they gave me the best they had the first time. My mom had to wait till the third one was born...moi!
~MarciaH #58
...um...just out of curiosity, who did you think David was in relation to me?
~aschuth #59
Hmh, Riette?
~riette #60
Whatever I thought, I hoped it was over! ha-ha!!!
~MarciaH #61
I'm afraid it is a life-time commitment. Moms are like that *smile*
