Incredibly dumb and stupid sports questions

OK, I'll lead off. Who was better, Mantle or Mays?

You'r right dumb question..Mantle,Yeah NY Team, thats ok..

Who had the most impressive careet stats. I'm sure Mantle outhomered him, but Mays was the best outfielder.

Why are they called the PACKERS? What is a Hoosier? Why are they still called New York Jets, Giants and Mets? Is the Ravens emblem the Grand Pubah Hat from Fred Flinstone? The Fabulous Sports "BABE"?????

All NY teams have to end in 'ets'. I don't know where the Giants snuck in.

Not that it matters much,but does spitting on an umpire deserve a suspension,I haven't watched BB 'cause of the strike,and only follow it in the news. A realy incredibly dumb Q,If we could give a real reason for dugout clearing to someone who's never seen BB,what would it be?

mays.. (but it's close... and mickey played his entire career with defects/injuries that would've ruined lesser mortals)

I'd go with Mays just because I'm such a National Leaguer. And I got to see him play in St. Louis when I was a kid. Sey hey makin' those "basket catches".

i saw mays play a few times as well... the basket catch used to drive coaches nuts (we all wanted to do it)... mickey was something special, though, for sure... before the astros, most people here were cardinals fans (because of the buffs, of course, the cardinals AAA club for many years) and/or yankees fans (because of mickey)... my grandfather loved the astros, but he never stopped loving the cardinals, either... he used to tell me stories about the gas house gang, and especially dizzy dean... and i used to listen to ol' diz, too, in the late 60's... he would help broadcast several astros games every year (and he'd always sing "wabash cannonball", and do grotesque things to the language... and it was the best baseball commentary i ever heard)... really liked that '68 team, too... bob gibson was my hero that year, and it broke my heart when they lost the series...

I remember listening to the incomparable radio broadcast trio of Jack Buck, Harry Carey, and Joe Garagiola on KMOX, all three went on to stellar careers in broadcast after the golden era of the St. Louis Cardinals.

that's incredible... i never knew the three of them were ever together (must've been amazing)... for whatever reason, baseball is the only game i know of that retains it's magic, on the radio... guess you're a big joe torre fan, huh?

Joe Torre came later on, after the Buck/Garagiola/Carey era. That was when Musial was on first, Schoendienst on second, Boyer on third, Curt Flood in Center, Bill White on the mound. McCarver caught and then joined that broadcast crew. It was comforting to have the Cardinals games on as I drifted off to sleep in my cottage bedroom in the little summer community where we stayed. There was magic with the Cardinals then.

i guess you're talking about the johnny keene cards? (just before he got screwed by the yankees)... if i remember right, lindy mcdaniel pitched for them (i think he's from baytown)... also ray sadecki... also, didn't uecker back up mccarver for awhile?... also remember al dark, dal maxwell, julian javier from those years... and of course lou brock came along, at the end of that era, i guess (didn't he play on keene's '64 champion team?)... the '68 team (red's team) was my favorite, though... maris and cepeda played on that team... and gibson, charlton, and nelly briles, of course, with joe hoerner coming out of the bullpen... god, gibson was magnificent that year...(though i've never understood how a guy with 13 shutouts and a 1.12 era could lose 9 games)...
