A new form of sea life begins to appear all over the earth's oceans.
Lake Bell from Boston Legal fame is an oceanographer who discovers this phenonomenon and in the last episode she's heading down in the deep with a fellow chaser to see the new life form first hand. They're in a big metail ball that breaks loose, so they're heading in to the abyss in the last episode.
